Some of the best Americans are from China. Thanks to the CCP they have a deeper appreciation for freedom than most.

CCP has a crap ton of spies over here as well. They busted several underground police departments who were kidnapping escapees an sending them back to China. The Chinese population is actually terrified of these guys and with the wide open border there's a lot more pouring in now. Never mind the saboteurs who will unleash hell if we decide to get in the way of their Taiwan invasion.

We should be doing more to protect the rights of the good Chinese immigrants, but that's probably not going to happen while we have a president who's in the CCP's pocket

When the COVID Pandemic was in its early days, and Fauci was telling us to not rush out & stock up on N95 masks, there were dozens of social media posts showing Chinese shoppers with multiple carts each with cases of masks.  Some were making several trips between the store and their vehicles so store management wouldn't interfere.

The Chinese government asked (directed?) them to buy up as many masks as they could ... and ship them to China!

I guess these were not the "best Americans" among the bunch.

The issue I'm worried about is when the sabotage attacks start there will be a rush to throw anyone suspected of being a Chinese national into internment camps.

It's happened before, and the events of the past few years have not convinced me people are any more rational than they were in the 1940's.

I think there's a middle ground between complacency and irrational panic.

We have many new technologies that weren't around in WWII.  We also have data warehouses that tell us so much more about an individual other than where they -- or their parents and grandparents -- were born.

If China and the US became combatants, identifying and detering threats against our facilities and people would be much easier than back then.

Not saying people won't suggest a one-size-fits-all solution "just to be sure," but hopefully we've grown more wise and more capable than to listen to people like that.

The FBI keeps harping on domestic terrorism as the number one threat to Americans now.  In my mind, the Chinese saboteur scenario is no less a domestic terrorist than a good ol' boy wih a hood and robe in his pickup.

First of all, the US empire has a documented history of racial hatred of Asians and Chinese in particular dating back to the 19th century.  Chinese Exclusion Act anyone?

You of all people worried about whether the citizenry of the US empire will throw suspected Chinese nationals into concentration camps should any hostilities begin with China?  Given the obvious hatred you have for China, I would have thought you salivating for such an end-of-the-World conflict.

However, if you are indeed genuine in your post above, you need not worry about the Chinese nationals that already are living in the US empire as students, businessmen, permanent residents, etc. being thrown in Guantanamo or any other gulag the US empire already possesses as those unfortunate innocent Chinese and everyone else for that matter will be put out of their misery when the nukes start flying.

CCP actually has internment camps for races they don't like right now. I'm concerned the CCP has infiltrated our government and institutions and this is what they have planned for us as well.

Didn't the kingdom also have antagonism towards Asians and particularly the Chinese?

The Masters and Servants Act of 1850 legalized indentured servitude, which was primarily discriminatory towards Asians and wasn't repealed until we were annexed in 1898. Granted, it was probably more loved by the plantation owners, but it was still signed into law by the monarchy and remained law under the kingdom for the rest of its existence.

The charlatans (that we both despise) love to talk about how the kingdom abolished slavery before the US, yet get all flustered and triggered when the MSA gets brought up.

consider that she may have family still in china, and that any anti-china statements she makes could be bad for them. also consider that in america, you are allowed to make pro-china statements, because freedom.

Yes, you have the freedom to make pro-China statements in America.  That freedom is intended to limit government repercussions as long as the statement is not deemed "unprotected speech":

Quote
Categories of speech that are given lesser or no protection by the First Amendment
(and therefore may be restricted) include obscenity, fraud, child pornography, speech
integral to illegal conduct, speech that incites imminent lawless action, speech that
violates intellectual property law, true threats, false statements of fact, and commercial
speech such as advertising. Defamation that causes harm to reputation is a tort and
also a category which is not protected as free speech.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_free_speech_exceptions

The Bill of Rights for the most part states what the government cannot do.  It does not restrict the consequences one may experience due to their "fee speech" from non-government parties.

That boss you work for has the freedom to fire you if your statements draw negative attention to the company.

Your neighbors have the right to no longer associate with you.

Your friends have the right to talk about you behind your back.

Your college professors have the right to consider your opinions when evaluating your work.

Just because you can ...
