passed 3-0
2 members excused (at least one would've been a no)
here's the testimony (will likely be added to later with more late testimony)

legislature does not provide counts
but an impressive amount of female representation...

Just doing a search showed more oppose than support. Tell us what we already know. We need to vote these critters out of office. Very impressive letters written by those that opposed this bill; citing references and good grammar. Those who wrote in support need a tissue and a red pen for poor grammar and emotions. None of the support offered any real data.

I actually met with her prior to the HI County sensitive places hearings.  She said it's my policy to not meet with organizations like yours and the only reason I'm meeting with you is because my staff setup the meeting.  She was pretty hostile, but the staff were nice and interested in what I had to say.  I feel sorry for her staff having to work for her.

In the last council hearing for bill, she basically took over the county council and restored all the things I was able to take out of it, and tried to add even more restrictions.  She had their county counsel talk about the legal defenses for the restrictions.  It was almost like she was mind-controlling the attorney.

Glenn Wakai is a bully. Apparently there was some conflict with his wife working at HTA.

no, it's getting worse.

might be better that it passed out of committee, unamended.  it's so draconian, might make it too drastic for moderates.

and it's when we start getting the amendments, that our 2A rights get whittled away, one cut at a time, death by a thousand cuts.

Disappointed in some of my shooting friends / peers who said they cannot submit testimony. I know some are lurking here. This is THE TIME to step up! There may never be a next time ever in your life. Everything in your safe will turn to worthless paper weights.
This is THE wake up call to all the gun shops that also said they cannot. This bill will take a big chunk out of your business.

I only read half the test and Young Guns, Danger Close (in person), SEC, Peter Abraham submitted.  I've seen IG post about it from HGS, Firearms International, Kaneohe Gun Shop.  IDK if these submitted because sometimes, they submit under their names and not as the store. Again, I only read half the test.

If 3196 were to go into effect, do you think we will be like Cali or WA?

WA - I haven’t done any research but it seems that firearms you owned were grandfathered….you can’t get more.  I don’t know if they have to be converted to a perm magazine

I’m guessing we will be more like CA…I heard that Hawaii generally follows CA.   So like ar pistols, perm mag for ar rifles…I assume 10 rd maximum
