Vote for the bill was deferred until 2/27.

Buenaventura was missing, which if we assume Gabbard was going to vote no, then there would have been a tie. Which means the bill dies.

Comrade Karl said they need to make some changes to the bill.

So I think this is a good sign as Buenaventura wasn't on board with it. So there will have to be some big changes in our favor to get her to support the bill. If she shows up on tuesday.
so they're looking for which parts of SB3196 to keep, and which to delete.

in my view, all of SB3196 is bad.  any compromise means that somebody is going to be thrown under the bus.  whether it's the 50 cal sport shooters, AR-15 30rd mags, semi-auto rifles, pistol "evil" features, folks with semi-auto shotguns.

somebody is going to get thrown under the bus.  somebody is going to pull up stakes and move to the mainland.  this is divide & conquer.

this bill needs to die.

This is a rough estimate but there are about 1K oppose the bill and 400 support it. 200 of the support were direct emails to Comrade Karl from Everytowns email list.

Count may be a bit off...

They do it with elections so I’m not surprised. I guess this means we should start spamming as well. Otherwise we’re just letting them get away with it.

I’m becoming clinically undepressed and thinking about beginning it all.

at least 193-194 emails to commrade Rhoads contained the copy-paste phrase "I'm urging you to protect Hawai'i residents like me..."

At least 474 emails to commrade Rhoads contained the copy-paste phrase "Please protect Hawai'i residents like me from gun violence..."

At least 18 names used in email testimonies were duplicate testimonies, with these individuals sending at least two emails using both phrases. Will likely be higher will likely be higher but I need to find a better way to analyze the data.

What one might consider is using this as a talking point to the other senators before the 27th; namely how these testimonies were submitted directly to Rhoads and not via the official testimony form on the legislature site. I know someone mentioned that the gross majority were excluded, but this can be interpreted as bias on the part of Rhoads, given his previously established prejudices against firearms and the 2nd amendment, as well as his affiliations with the organization(s) that sent in these emails. Could be interpreted as interference in our governmental/legislative process.

people are looking into how we can complain about this and get some resolution...

Spent the past few hours going through the copy-paste testimonies again. Here are my findings:

- 193 copy-paste email testimonies sent directly to Rhoads from Everytown for Retardation, beginning with the phrase "I'm urging you to protect Hawai'i residents like me..."

- 474 copy-paste email testimonies sent directly to Rhoads from Everytown for Retardation, beginning with the phrase "Please protect Hawai'i residents like me from gun violence..."

- 71 individuals submitted at least two testimonies using both phrases.

- Of the 71 multiple submissions, 42 are triple submissions, meaning their names are listed 3 times in the pdf files.

- All 667 emails were sent directly to Rhoads via everytownʻs email. I wasnʻt able to check if they submitted official testimony through the legislature site as well.

Will make a separate post on this.

Made some updates

Thoughts before it goes to the printer today. Colors are from the maoli flag

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.

Put it on hold.

I will reword to fit Hi will not comply if you won't use the correct grammar. Right now it doesn't make sense.

Might not bother other people but it will bother people who are Hawaiian and speak 'ōlelo Hawai'i.

I would also recommend changing the colors to reflect the hae Hawai'i (Hawaiian flag). The blue is royal, I believe. The Maoli flag is not a real flag.

Good ol Bronze star Chris

Someone commented he should debate us. Sounds like a good idea.

He is given talking points and if you screw that up, he's lost. 1 time in the stand your ground hearing, he stated that he doesn't want HI to become a Kinosha, WI and people like Kyle Rittenhouse running around with an "assault rifle". He was then told open carry like that is illegal in HI and when he was called upon again, he stumbled and you can tell his main talking point was gone.

I like the design. No need follow HI colors too closely.

Yeah.  It's a better representation of "will not comply" if the design doesn't follow conventional standards.

but, I'm not the expert.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
