Apparently CB got early access to the details of the bill... and the aren't sharing

https://www.civilbeat.org/2024/02/assault-rifles-and-shotguns-would-still-be-allowed-in-hawaii-under-amended-bill/

I got enough out of the article to conclude this:  this Marvin guy is something else.

How about toughening up our current laws on incarceration.  The Jan 1st crazy freeway chase with that asshat that had a AR, WTF was this guy doing loose?  He had so many serious priors and yet he wasn't in jail?

Explain that, Marvin.

Also almost every one of those fricken Mass Shooters everyone is crying about: LE knew about them.  Yet they didn't do nothing.

Explain that, Marvin.

Let's end this stupid circus and direct precious resources to where the problem is.

Mental Health and incarceration.  Tougher Laws.  Actions with consequences.

Why don't you help us do that, Marvin.
Sometimes you gotta know when to save your bullets.

When will we get the text of the amended bill? Hard to speak against it when we don't know exactly what it says.

The real question is: why is a private news organization being granted early access, as well as Bronze Star Chris?

A friend with a large following was in a legit SOC unit. I informed him of Mr. Bronze Star and his only response was, "as soon as he said 'I'm a veteran', I checked out."

The fact that Chris constantly throws around his exaggerated service record (i.e. "combat wounded") as proof of his expertise is more than enough to show how much of a tool he is.

For one hearing, he brought it up multiple times. So much that when our guys testified, they mentioned their service and we had a bunch.  I get that he likes to bring it up, but what's worst is that he took an oath and is breaking it. But one has to ask is that oath only valid when in the service?

I'll match his Bronze star and raise him a Meritorious Service Medal, a pair of Army Commendations, a pair of Army Acheivements, and a Combat Infantry Badge. My two Distinguished Badges trump his Expert. Wikipedia says his service ended with a helicopter crash, no mention if he was shot down or just a bad landing.

As much as Chris Marvin is an ass that's doing anything it takes to destroy our rights and keeps insulting us, in the back of my mind I have to wonder if I should feel sorry for him.  I talked to him for a bit at a rally and he was pleasant to talk to for a while.  Then he started to twist what I said and broke out Everytown talking points, like a politician.  A person I know had a good conversation with Chris and felt that Chris was doing this because he believed in it and his devotion to it.  And that he had a bad case of PTSD from the crash.  He may feel that he got a second chance at life after the crash and wanted to do something good for the world and doing this is his therapy.  He also might not know any better when it comes to guns and that he believes what he says

This revised bill is confusing but it sounds like anyone in possession of an “assault weapon attachment” is guilty of a class C felony. I’m assuming the attachments are what they’re using as the “characteristics“ that make an “assault rifle” which includes a threaded barrel that a lot of semi rifles have.

"a form letter signed by more than one hundred individuals; and more than two hundred eighty individuals." - Numbers seem off, but never seen it broken down like this before.

"No .50 caliber rifle or assault weapon attachment shall be sold or transferred on or after July 8, 2024"
Ummmmm so I'm guessing an AR15 being sold when this law takes effect cannot have any of the 8 features on it, nor can you buy it separately.

Looks like Rhoads either did a slick move to still have a "assault rifle/shotgun" ban in different terms.  Or he changed his mind after the hearing.

Not sure if Senator San Buenaventura got backstabbed by Rhoads to get her vote and didn't know, or if she went along with it.

Doesn’t 134-8(a) just straight out prohibit possession of the attachments which would basically prohibit most semis by default?

so they did consider the form letters
we were told that form letters were not considered
