I was gonna write a letter to the Senator about this gun control situation and on his page there is a notice that he is on his final term.

Any ways whats his stance on 2nd Amendment?

With Daniel Inouye passed away and now him retiring.

Things are going to change .......

Mazie Hirono will be moving from the House to the Senate to replace Akaka.

Tulsi Gabbard will be taking Hirono's seat.

Colleen Hanabusa will be the other House Representative.

I don't have anything official, but Akaka had much the same stance on the 2nd Amendment as many of his fellow Democrats; it's okay but needs to be carefully legislated. And with the Two Dan's gone, things are going to change in the sense that Hawaii will have less political sway, but it will still be two D's in there.

No Democrat or long serving Rep/Sen from Hawaii has ever been pro-2A to the best of my knowledge.

The best chance would be to get someone such as Djou or Lingle elected............actually it would be Slom if he ever decided he would want to run.
