Of 30rd AR mags to have/stock/save? I still got a bunch of USGI green 30 rounders and was thinking of selling some off again since people r looking. What u guys think is a good amount to hold on to? Then I may sell the rest.

I say at least 10 per long gun and 5 per handgun. Of course, more the merrier (in the Christmas spirit! Haha).

you selling AR mags?  how much?

im not interested in panic buying to profit.  i just only have 6 mags, and i'd prefer to take that up to 10-12, and leave it at that.

those magazines aren't worth much if you don't have ammo to load

For a trip to the range, that's more than enough. For doomsday, keep as many as you can keep loaded, maybe 10 like drck said?

I don't keep too many loaded. The 10 mags per gun was more since mags are a disposable item and things like the feed lips, spring, etc wear down. You can replace springs, but need a new mag body if the feed lips wear, break, get damaged, etc.

Magpul has stated many times there's no issue with storing loaded magazines.

I don't keep many mags loaded because I have mostly ammo just for range and training. The part of feed lips and spring wear is through use and not storage. I primarily use USGI mags anyways, but I'd have no problems leaving PMags loaded, same at my USGI mags.

If I had a good supply of some 55 gr BTHP ammo, I'd likely have more mags loaded up.
