Just because no nuclear armed nation has launched nukes against a nuclear peer should not serve as any proof that nuclear confrontation is not a real possibility in the future.  You still fail to realize that past and current proxy wars as well as near close calls to WWIII are not evidence that nuclear buttons will not be pushed during WWIII.

Furthermore, you seem to believe it would be nations other than the US empire that will initiate a nuclear exchange.  I would offer the same fate of total destruction is also true for the US empire, if it decided to utilize nukes against a nuclear peer.

Based on what you detailed above, you are predicting and/or advocating the US empire eventually using nukes to defeat Russia and/or China in WWIII, since those populations have, are, and will never yield to the will of the US empire and nuke back.

Yes, boots on the ground are still needed in the current US imperial proxy conflict in Ukraine, but they are not being used as similarly as in the 20th century.  The Ukrainians have used their NATO trained army in massed attacks with little results.  The Russians on the other hand have not utilized their infantry in the same way, but rather utilized massed artillery, conventional missiles, and drones strategically and tactically since the conflict began with better results.

Totally correct.

Russia is not afraid of the US empire conquering the Russian Federation.

The Russians are afraid of the US empire continually trying to instigate color revolutions and installing US imperial puppet governments to serve as tools for future proxy conflicts.

Furthermore, it is more like the US empire worrying about its vassal states leaving the empire, especially when the US empire blows up the Nord Stream pipeline to ensure the European Union stays in the US empire's sphere of influence and not Russia's.

I could not stop laughing in your position that all the conflicts the US empire has participated pre and post-WWII were in essence to preserve peace and democracy.

Was the US imperial backed illegal overthrows of the Hawaiian Kingdom in 1893, Mohammad Mosaddegh of Iran 1953, Salvador Allende of Chile in 1973, Viktor Yanukovych of Ukraine in 2014, and etc. taken in the name of freedom and democracy?

Were the US imperial illegal wars in Iraq 2003, Libya in 2011, Syria in 2014, and etc. also taken in the name of freedom and democracy?

And let's not forget about US imperial backed acts of terror:
Was the US empire's involvement with the destruction of the Nord Stream pipeline hurting its own European vassal states as well as the recent so-called ISIS-K terrorist attack in Moscow to assist the people of both the EU and the Russian Federation against tyranny?

Reality > Possibility

There's a greater chance of a rogue government or terrorist sets off a dirty bomb than a super power is to launch a first strike.

We always plan for the worst and hope for the best, and we are supposed to learn from the past so we don't repeat the same mistakes -- just invent new ones!   :geekdanc:

I can't tell you what the future will bring, but I do know if Russia wanted to launch nukes at us, it would have been long before now.  And there's a reason we are trying our best to stop Iran from getting nukes -- they don't exactly believe the same things as we do.  Obama and Biden sending pallets of cash to Iran and the UN failing to do proper inspections hasn't helped us.  Unless and until the day comes that Iran tests a nuclear device and also has the ICBM systems to deliver it, I'm okay living in today's non-nuclear Iran world.

As for your characterizations of my beliefs, you need to take a step back.  Don't extrapolate what I said about defeating an enemy (i.e. all out warfare) with what's going on today.  i consider China and Russia competition more than adversaries at this stage.  If we can't beat them without nukes on the industrial economic stage, then that's our loss.

1) You seem to be an expert, so please share with the class where nuclear buttons will be pushed during WWIII?  You seem to be the only one who "realizes" what is REALLY going on in the world of geopolitics, leading to "vassal states" playing a game of Global Thermonuclear War.  [slight sarcasm in there]

2) So is it your position that all conflicts the "US empire" participated in were not to preserve peace and democracy?  That time period covers quite a number of conflicts.  Or are you only referring to the ones that fit your narrative?  What about "conflicts" that were never made public?

Per President Putin, the Russian goal was not the complete defeat and absorption of Ukraine.  Hence, if that was not the goal, one cannot expect a quick end to the conflict.

Anyone can refer to President Putin's speeches for details.

Never said I was an expert.

Please refer to the latest regarding Russia's ( https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2024/02/28/russias-nuclear-strike-threshold-lower-than-publicly-stated-ft-a84274 ), China's (https://armscontrolcenter.org/countries/china/#:~:text=China's%20nuclear%20strategy%20centers%20around,first%20strike%20and%20retaliate%20proportionately.) and the US empire's (https://armscontrolcenter.org/2022-nuclear-posture-review/) nuclear doctrine for details to make you own conclusions.

Based on the above, there appears no reason to believe that some degree of nuclear weapon exchange is not a high probability should WWIII occur.

You seem to be the only one who "realizes" what is REALLY going on in the world of geopolitics, leading to "vassal states" playing a game of Global Thermonuclear War.  [slight sarcasm in there]
According to Trump, the World is nearing WWIII and, similar to my own views, reaffirms the nature of the fighting that will take place.

There might have been a few conflicts that don't go reported that may have served the interest of freedom and democracy post-WWII.  However, I am open to hear and debate any US imperial conflict undertaken post-WWII that were not geopolitical interest driven and purely peace and democracy motivated.

I see the US Empire's sneaky plan:

Go into a conflict that has nothing to do with our own national security, but fight for our allies to protect them.

Then, spend trillions of US money/debt rebuilding the countries in which we assisted damaging their infrastructure and properties.

All so the we can do what?  Steal that country's oil or other resources?

Oh wait.  I haven't seen the US come out of a single conflict wealthier than when we went in.

I guess we don't do "Imperialism" right.

Unlike Israel that is committing genocide in its efforts to defeat Hamas; the Russians have made every attempt to avoid civilian casualties which greatly diminishes their war fighting capabilities.

You hit a home run on your analysis above, except the part the US empire is not doing imperialism right.

US imperialism has been working perfectly until now as the ultrawealthy, American oligarchs, Power Okole, neocons, the Deep State, or whatever you want to call them have achieved global hegemony and controlled the production and flow of the planet's financial and natural resources since WWII.  It has only been the arrival of Putin and resurgence of China's economic might in the 21st century that has/is currently threatening the US empire's status quo or as the empire calls it, their "rules-based international order" that has changed the geopolitical equation.

Imperialism has brought great wealth to the US empire, but unfortunately only for those who directly and indirectly control the empire along with their lackeys.  Historically for the common people, they can only hope for table crumbs, but most always get the shaft in imperialist countries.

Yes, I did not say Russia has not leveled some buildings resulting in no civilian deaths, but relatively a lot less casualties than what is happening in Gaza.

Since the US imperial proxy war against Russia started, have the Russians leveled Kiev?  No, not because they could not, but did not want to go that far as of yet since the civilian casualties would have been enormous.

was the ukrainian counteroffensive in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts in 2023 also part of the plan?

Show me where Hamas makes an effort to not put their tunnels, arms and people in populated areas thereby making it all but impossible to carry out counterstrikes without civilian casualties.

Also show me where any other nation planning an attack will send out warnings days in advance warning them to leave the area or be at risk of getting caught in their operation.

Genocide?  "From the river to the sea ..."

Get a clue.  If Israel was involved in genocide, there would still be only Israelis living in gaza.

Genocide?  "From the river to the sea ..."
If Israel is not committing genocide, why did the UN Security Council last week Monday (3/25) passed a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire for the month of Ramadan, the immediate and unconditional release of hostages, and “the urgent need to expand the flow” of aid into Gaza?  BTW, there were 14 votes in favor with the United States abstaining.
