Sonic Tax Certification and Approval Cards
Under SB 1253, all gun owners must have their firearms tested annually for sound levels at an approved gun range. After sonic verification, with payment of the decibel-based sonic tax, the gun owner will then be issued a Sound Verification Card (aka “Sonic Permit”). This card must then be presented when the individual shoots at any indoor or outdoor gun range.

of course there's no remedy to make your guns shoot quieter because suppressors are illegal.

Happy April Fool's Day!

I like this one better:

California Imposes New Target Tax on Golden State Shooters
April 1, 2018
Quote
If you want to practice your marksmanship in California from now on, get ready to open
your wallet and pay the taxman. With the passage of AB 211, recently signed into law by
Gov. Jerry Brown, California shooters who use paper targets at indoor ranges will have to
pay a fee for every hole they put in paper — literally. This new law, codified in the California
Penal Code, states that commercial gun ranges must collect a charge of $0.38 per shot,
as established by holes made in approved paper targets. This fee, the “Target Tax”, can
be raised in the future at the discretion of the California Dept. of Justice.

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Times are getting bad when you can't tell if it's a joke or not.

Times are not getting bad. We're past that. It's already bad.  And getting worse.
