The wife of a Republican politician in Iowa has been convicted of dozens
of criminal charges related to a 2020 voter fraud scheme aimed at getting
her husband into office.

Department of Justice officials announced the verdict against Kim Phuong
Taylor in a statement released on Tuesday, explaining that she had submitted
absentee ballots on behalf of voters who had not given her permission to do
so.

She was convicted of 52 counts in total, including 26 counts of providing
false information in registering and voting, 23 counts of voter fraud, and
three counts of fraudulently registering to vote.

A state judge has taken the unusual step of ordering a new Democratic
mayoral primary in Connecticut’s largest city to be held after the Nov. 7
general election is completed. The decision comes after surveillance
videos showed a woman stuffing what appeared to be absentee ballots
into an outdoor ballot box days before the original primary.

Superior Court Judge William Clark determined the allegations of possible
malfeasance warrant throwing out the results of the Sept. 12 primary, which
incumbent Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim won by 251 votes out of 8,173
cast. Absentee ballots secured his margin of victory.

An Atlantic County, New Jersey, man was arrested today for his role in
procuring, casting, and tabulating fraudulent mail-in ballots submitted
in the Nov. 8, 2022, general election, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger
announced.

Craig Callaway, 64, a former member and president of the City Council
of Atlantic City and a political organizer who assisted campaigns for
elected offices in New Jersey, is charged in a criminal complaint unsealed
today with one count of depriving, defrauding, and attempting to deprive
and defraud the residents of the state of New Jersey of a fair and impartially
conducted election process by the fraudulent procurement, casting, and
tabulation of ballots.

According to a criminal complaint, Callaway and his team went up to
people throughout Atlantic City and offered them $30 to $50 to pretend
to be messengers for voters who wanted to vote by mail in the Nov. 8,
2022 election.

The scheme began around one month before the election, federal
prosecutors said.

Callaway and his associates transported the individuals to the Atlantic
County Clerk’s Office to get Vote-By-Mail Applications, the complaint
said. Callaway's group then filled out the applications and had the
mail-in ballots delivered to them instead of the actual voters, prosecutors
said.

Investigators spoke to four people who said they didn't vote in the
election but their ballots were counted.

The accusations are similar to those against sitting Atlantic City
Councilman Md Hossain Morshed, who was charged in March 2023 with
voter fraud, unemployment fraud, and lying to the FBI.
