no AR-15 used in the Sandy Hook school shooting?
« on: December 22, 2012, 10:50:40 PM »
The video in this one is interesting. The comments in the thread also seem to be right on, as the officer appears to be clearing the weapon with a knob on the right side of the receiver, as opposed to the charging handle on the rear of the receiver on an AR-15.

The first media reports said that a rifle was recovered in the vehicle and the gun man used 2 hand guns. The coroners report also stated that the victims all died by bullets designed to stay in the tissue and transfer he maximum amount trauma to the body. That sounds like hollow point handgun bullets. I don't care what type of round you use in a rifle. Is going to pass through the body.

The weapon looks more like a semi auto shotgun. It even looks like you can see shell holders on the buttstock at around 1:30. Also look how the stock wraps up around the bottom of the barrel, that isn't even consistent with Bushmasters hunting rifles. Something isn't right about all this.

All this "assault weapons" nonsense is being pushed by your typical liberal, progressive politicians and their abettors in the lamestream media (the worst offender thus far is Piers Morgan w/ his sniveling, rude, condescending behavior towards pro-gun right advocates). This Sandy Hook agitprop that's being disseminated by the media/politicians in nothing but a red herring. The leftist have wanted to reinstate the AWB, and now they think they can milk this tragedy for all it's political worth, which is sickening. I predicted Obama would start to reveal his radical anti-gun views if re-elected, and this event has given him the cover that he didn't need (second term and all), but I'm sure he's grateful for.

You would think with the name "Bushmaster" being thrown around that it would at least be an AR-15. It would seem almost slanderous to use the name "Bushmaster" when it isn't one, and it isn't even an AR-15. Oh, I forgot they were using the following pic for identification. Just paint it black and make it take shotgun shells...

ETA: Just wanted to add that reports are inconclusive and we'll have to wait for a complete investigation before knowing all there is to know. There was a good quote from Der_Hans in the thread on arfcom
Quote
I watched the video. I see officers removing some kind of semi-auto SHOTGUN from the trunk. I think we could even see a chambered round be ejected when he first worked the handle. That he did not seem to remove a magazine, and that he racked it several times, along with the shape, for some reason makes me want to say its a tube-fed shotgun rather than mag fed like a Saiga.

Now on to the subject of rifle vs. no rifle.

IIRC media reports included all possible combinations of:
Two handguns
Four handguns
Rifle used
Rifle in trunk

IMHO, they may have intentionally avoided the use of the term "shotgun" and automatically converted "long gun" into "AR-15". Why? Because they hate guns, and a "shotgun" is "something you hunt with" and also the second amendment is "about hunting" and therefore hunting shotguns are protected. So they went with an AR-15 smear campaign. How much you want to bet they think "AR" stands for "Assault Rifle" and ran with it for that reason?

The medical examiner said the victims appear to have been shot with a rifle.
He could be wrong. He could be a dumbass who wouldn't know a rifle wound from an arrow wound.
He could be right, there may have been a rifle inside and a shotgun in the trunk.

So let's assume that the ME is right and the wounds are from a rifle.

First of all, define "rifle"? If the murder weapon was a pistol caliber carbine could he still say the wounds were from a 'rifle' and still be correct? Second, the last I heard, the only official appearances on TV were made by guys who refused to discuss the weapons. So we don't know if it WAS a Bushmaster AR-15, if it even WAS a Bushmaster, if it WAS a Bushmaster but actually their bullpup rifle, if it was a "223 bushwacker" like one derptard said, if it's a bolt action, or if it is a .223 at all.

All I think I reliably know is that a shotgun was in the trunk. I'll wait till I see official sources before deciding on anything else.

I would be ecstatic if its revealed that no "Bushmaster" was used at all.

Bushmaster then sued the major networks for billions of dollars for slander.

This is typical lie as you go bullshit that politicians and the mainstream media defecate onto the sheeple of America.

Here's a theory. The media ran with the words "long rifle", and made it into assault rifle. When in all actuality it was ment as .22 lr(long rifle). And that would explain the "bullets designed to stay in the flesh" statement as well. The police could have been racking a 10/22 with a assault type stock.

I agree with 2aHawaii that we'll have to wait and see on this. I haven't seen any other corroborating news reports.

I'm just afraid that the truth will not come out. I want to see what the officer who cleared that weapon in the car has to say about what he found.

Exactly what i was saying. Can the public get access to police reports or medical reports? It would be the most accurate information. I highly doubt the news will report information that goes against their beliefs, regardless if it is the truth or not.

That guide needs updating to include BushWhacker model 223. Truth doesnt matter now because the lie is being run by the media all the way to the goal line with the refs looking away.

Who knows? The real shooter was probably  the man in black on the grassy knoll. I wouldn't put it pass the "powers that be". The "powers that be be" are just pushing their agenda quickly while they still have public opinion on their side.

not really.  I read an article, and this is true, generally, that the fact that obama started a committee is to delay the conversation.  There isn't another reason to do it.  He's delaying and setting a smokescreen to do it.  I don't trust the man, but he's hbelping us righbt now.

Then why not say something such as, "my findings show that every victim had been shot multiple times and had wounds synonymous to those having been shot with a .223 caliber rifle." Why does it take a reporter to ask the question? It just tarnishes the credibility if the "medical examiner" in my opinion. Almost as if he was trying to find a way to spin the story without actually verbally spinning it. Like he would be able to sleep better at night knowing he didn't exactly say it. It also questions the credibility of the media trying to spin this story from national tragedy into political gain. Not like we had any question about that, but make an attempt to Google this story and you'll be hard pressed to find anything related to this except on what's considered "fringe websites" that most people lend no credibility to. Sad.

What I heard in the hour following the shooting is that the killer was found with two hand guns on his person and an AR15 in his car.  In the days that ensued, I heard a conflicting report that the killer used an AR15 in the commission of the crime and that coroner had reported that the wounds on his victims were consistent with a high powered rifle.  Only time will tell what the shooter actually used but it would not surprise me that the liberal media got in line with the White House and changed the story for the purpose of promoting the administration's agenda.

I though the same thing initially and posted this on the Connecticut Shooting post:

- " I don't think it was set up.

But I do wonder if it's being set up to make it look like the "assault rifle" was used as the primary weapon instead of the 2 handguns.

Like I said.  It's weird the police reveal the brands of the 2 handguns ( Glock and Sig Sauer )  but state the AR was found in the vehicle. Wouldn't they notice an AR lying on the floor ?

Not until the coroner says the rifle was used was it reported that the rifle was the primary weapon.

No matter how you slice it this was an unthinkable tragedy, but I wonder if they saw opportunity to go after the assault weapons ban ex post facto. " -

Since then I listened to the police scanner recordings and the police do report that a rifle is found next to the shooter.

They also report that 18 kids and a teacher were found in a closet. Makes you wonder about the effectiveness of the lockdown procedure.
