911 - no one available to take your call

Sad to see people come into these situations and learning no one is coming to help you.  A bottle of OC could've prevented this.

My friend said he had a similar situation twice for non-emergencies.  He got the same message and had to keep calling back

Staff shortages plague Honolulu’s 911 system

When Kenneth Jacob, a 75-year-old Waikiki resident, was attacked by a man on the Ala Moana bridge over the Ala Wai Canal, he yelled, “Call 911."

Jacob’s automated phone assistant Siri called immediately...Instead, Jacob got an automated message indicating that no one was available to take his call.

He said that he also wanted first responders to come quickly to address the lump on his temple and three broken ribs.

Mayor Rick said we have to do more.

Because they are short staffed.  He has 2 recruit looking cops guarding the door to his office.  Or did he stop that realizing how stupid and silly it looks.

Guard the mayor!  F*ck the citizens!
