I'm not quite that old. Besides, that's not in Hawaii. However I can tell you that I did get a dcm garand delivered via mail for $121.00.
But I did not really enjoy shooting it. So I sold it.

I bought a WW1 7MM German Mauser from Klein’s in 1965 for $11.00.  I was 15 years old and it was delivered by USPS.
One of my cousins bought a 303 British Lee Enfield and another bought a 30 Carbine.  Guns were cheap, plentiful and easy to
acquire back then.

I did buy my first Daisy BB gun around that time or maybe a little after.  For $6.50.  The cheapest model.  The word "Doink" had a new meaning after I shot that gun.

I worked so hard at my newspaper delivery route to buy that gun.

Ironically, the retailer was in Chicago of all places.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

$1.50 shipping.  :o
I’m becoming clinically undepressed and thinking about beginning it all.
