I have a friend who posted something like "To all the homophobes out there, June is our month".

Just because someone doesn't agree that a certain sexual preference should get special treatment, doesn't make 1 a phobe.  I put it this way, why people don't like your culture is when you throw it in their faces. Same goes with crossfit and vegans. Talk to any of them and they will find a way to mention how great crossfit is or how bad you are for eating meat. Same same.

Not finding someone attractive is normal.   Not letting others find people they find attractive isn't.
