This decision puts a  new spin on the iran-Contra scandal.

Ollie North insulated Reagan from prosecution by taking accountability for the majority of the actions being investigated.

The problem with this ruling is it means any president going forward will say everything they do is within the scope of 'official actions.'

MSNBC is doing their Chicken Little impression, saying every president going forward can commit any criminal acts they want to without fear of prosecution.

Hopefully the definition of what constitutes an official action gets hammered out quickly.

The meltdown in the media is insane.  The ruling states only official acts are covered by the opinion.  Trump could still face charges if they are deemed unofficial.  But the media is focused on Trump not being convicted before the elections.

In no way trying to prosecute your political opponents.

If Biden officially as a EO or presidential letter head memo, orders the assassination of Trump he would be covered.  This ruling is beyond dumb and dangerous.

The ruling is not beyond dumb and dangerous.  It's the idiot that would use an EO or presidential letter head to order an assassination.

Oh wait.  I forgot.  We have biden.......

It's not automatic immunity.  It would be for the courts to decide if it falls under official acts or not.  The media likes to throw around the Assassination scenario.  Assassination of a US citizen in the US would be extremely difficult to justify as an official act other than civil war.  Congress would also have the power to impeach.

Because it's called a crime. The media is exaggerating.

You've been suckling the MSM talking points, haven't you?  Almost verbatim of the MSLSD whiners crying because they want to go after Trump, not because they see any other president abusing his power.

As for assassinations, even the president can't violate civil rights protected under the constitution for "official actions".  If that were the case, he could take control of Congress and call it an official action.

I'd say use some common sense, but you've give us ample evidence you don't know what that is.

The liberal strategy is to say it loud, say it a lot, and strike fear in people.  And people will think it true.
