An Odd Incident in Aiea
« on: July 18, 2024, 10:13:00 AM »
Yesterday I got a parking ticket for parking my car in the Aiea Town Square.
For the first time in my life I got a parking ticket. No excuses for old timers.
Its my mistake, no one else's fault. I picked up some food at M&M BBQ which is next to
the lot but it is not part of the Aiea Town Square.

I called the phone no. on the ticket and asked how I could pay for it. I was told I could just
pay the attendant cash and get a receipt. I am going past the area today and asked if anyone
would be there to accept payment. The nice lady told me that no one will be watching the lot
today, so I would be able to pay tomorrow. I told her: "so today I can park free"? She laughed
and said yes. So its free parking today but don't blame anyone if you do get a ticket.

Thanks - good to know.  I buy from M&M once in a while - their prices are still reasonable

Ticket was from facility or lot?  Not C&C.  Is that right?

I've encounterd the "facility ticket" one.  Occasionally for no "good reason".  In a couple of cases (at least that I remember), ignored.  One was after i chatted with a shop in the lot and they said "yeah, it happens. ignore".

That's how they get you.

Pretend to be unattended so people park without paying, then send an attendant out for 30 minutes to ticket everyone.

Half hour labor cost == more than a day's revenue in "parking fines."

Yup not City parking, private parking attendant via Aiea Town Center. I parked there many times and neva got a fee charged to me.
I guess yesterday someone did show up for work. There's a first time for everything.

Ya, probably.  ;D

I think eventually they may tow, but for at least one instance, seems like someone was a bit overzealous in issuing tickets, and I guess company benefits if/when folks pay vice questioning.

I know a guy who's a shitty parker. He got a ticket and didn't pay it at 1 location. He said, F-it since he doesn't go there often. What he didn't realize was that this put him in the log at all Diamond Parking managed locations. He got towed at another location for parking and unpaid ticket.

I spoke with the lot attendant and it's $10 per day per entry.
The store owners/employees pay $5 per day.
No one parks for free any more.

How much is the "fine" for parking without paying in advance?

I just paid the $10 and I was done.
I noticed that the parking receipt had the parking fee box checked.
There was also a parking violation box on the receipt.
I guess I got a break.
