BREAKING: Trump campaign files FEC complaint against
Biden and Harris over transfer of campaign fundsDonald Trump's presidential campaign filed a complaint with the Federal Election
Commission on Tuesday against Joe Biden and Kamala Harris which accused the
president and vice president of violating campaign finance laws by transferring
Biden's campaign funds to Harris' campaign.
"Kamala Harris is seeking to perpetrate a $91.5 million dollar heist of Joe Biden’s
leftover campaign cash — a brazen money grab that would constitute the single
largest excessive contribution and biggest violation in the history of the Federal Election
Campaign Act of 1971, as amended," David Warrington, the Trump campaign's general
counsel wrote in the complaint, per New York Times. He said that Biden and Harris
were "flagrantly violating the Act by making and receiving an excessive contribution of
nearly one hundred million dollars, and for filing fraudulent forms with the Commission
purporting to repurpose one candidate’s principal campaign committee for the use of
another candidate."
Warrington continued: "To date, Biden for President has provided no indication that
it will return or redesignate all of its general election contributions. Thus, each and
every general election contribution received by Biden for President is an excessive
contribution." In essence, he argued that Harris is not the Democrat's official nominee
yet and Biden cannot keep the general election funds he received if he is no longer
a general election candidate.
The lawyer asked for a prompt response from the FEC on the matter, as Harris "is in
the process of committing the largest campaign finance violation in American history
and she is using the Commission’s own forms to do it."

If the donors for Biden want their donations to go to Harris or not, they should have the option to 1) designate it officially on some FEC form, 2) request a refund thereby cancelling the donation entirely, or 3) get a refund from Biden then make whatever legal contribution to the Harris campaign they wish.
Trying to shuffle almost $100M from the Biden campaign to her campaign not only makes a huge assumption the donors want to contribute to her (the assumption being the two candidates are interchangeable), but it also creates a massive headache in the FEC reporting process. Biden has all the records for his donors and the amounts, as required by law so the FEC knows the funds are legit. Biden would have to give that information over to the Harris campaign so she's able to document sources of contributions to her campaign.
Private donor information and financial records should not be transferrable to another campaign without the express consent of the donor.
Ordinarily, campaigns that violate FEC laws get fined for their violations. But, this is no ordinary situation. They should know that the transfer of $91.5M is, in the eyes of the FEC, a gigantic donation from the Biden campaign. How could it be viewed as anything else? The amount involved is also unprecedented. Larger dollar amounts that violate the law should involve larger penalties other than a slap on the wrist fine.
And these are the lowlife lawbreakers the dems want leading our country. Two people elected as President and Vice President, yet they can't even bother to ask if something like moving $91.5M between campaigns is prohibited.
