Once you get registration in the mail for a pistol, is there any reason to keep the permit to acquire for that gun?

Is there a reason to keep expired long gun permits to acquire?

It all depends who's at the window.  I'll bet HPD just shreds them anyways.  Same with expired CCW cards.  Some need to turn them in before they get their new card, others don't.
