Its shooters like that give the rest of us a bad rap. For the most part our shooting community here his very helpful with new shooters and new shooters are very receptive to the input. Guy was probably a Call of Duty ranger or internet commando. That's why I try not to shoot on the weekends. They mostly come out on the weekends.

Good on you bro I try most of the time but depending on the shooter cause sometimes they come off as know it alls. Sometimes they bring friends who are even newer to shooting and they get all defensive cause they feel as if they are being shown up in front of their friends. Lots of attitude to say the least. Gotta say though that thats usually not the case. Most new shooters are open to the feed back.

Are they cutting back on the number of ROs ?

The ROs are usually pretty good about catching that kind of stuff and correcting it. I remember getting scolded/corrrected by the RO my first solo trip to the range for crossing the yellow line during a cease fire/range is cold.  Woke my butt up and I never did it again.

I remember RO swearing at a guy over the loud speaker who was sweeping his muzzle while re-casing his rifle.  This is after he tried to tell the gentleman "nicely" twice prior but the guy wasn't listening.

With all the Newbs with no mentorship, it might get pretty crazy out there.  And apparently not everyone's cool like the folks here on 2A. 
The report of the guy telling a veteran shooter F-U for the advice is seriously messed up.

i'd just like to know the numbers in the group, male/female, attire, equipment etc so i know what to watch for

i think we should be an informed community and work together towards improving the situation on the range, so this is the reason i'd like to get a general idea of what these people were like

i wouldnt mind if they let go of the 5 rounds deal or the rapid fire rules

but i dont think you can ever be too strict about muzzle discipline and the firing line.  that's how deadly accidents happen.

Sometimes but usually the line goes hot before the advertised open time. It can get packed when they hold their matches. I believe its the first sunday of every month.

I was with the group of about 5 people like 5-6 benches away.  Took some new shooters out to the range for the first time.  Glock 17 and HK USP 40c on the bullseye side and then my DDM4 V5 and Arsenal SLR-101s on the rifle side.

The rifle side was MUCH busier than I though it would be and we were a little rushed to finish the ammo they bought for the rifle side.  Fun day though.   

Did you previously mention that you shoot with the SRGC as well?  I have to get out there for one of the KR-3 shoots soon.

They were a group of 3 guys with 2 of them late 20s to early 30s. The other guy was older with a navy hat, the ones with a ship name on it. They were trying to zero a Remington 700p. I knew they could care less about range rules when they were taking stuff off the bench during a cease fire. I think the Remmy was a .223 as I heard one of them say that .223 = 5.56 . If this is you or your buddies the shooter who reminded you was just trying to avoid having the RO remind you and promote a safe environment.
