It is a very common type of gun. Inexpensive and easy to shoot by a non gun-person. It is what my gramma had in her closet.

Police often have firearms for sale to the public that were recovered but not claimed by the owner.  Not sure HI ever does that, but my grandmother bought a cute little Raven Arms .25Auto from the local police.  The Chief of Detectives went to our church and his son was in my scout troop.  My grandmother asked him where she could find a pistol for home defense and not spend much $.

A 223 AR 15 is also a very common gun. So is a pistol if one wants to be more vague as u just posted 22LR and not a 22rifle or a 22 pistol (both shoot 22LR rounds).

I dont have enough info to speculate what kind of gun she owns.

For someone who doesnt jump to concluasions and waits for more info, u sure assumed.

There's a huge divide between contributing to a discussion and posting contrary "guesses" without any facts or expert experience to back them up.

For example, my guess was supported by personal experience with my grandmother and the fact that our PD sold firearms to the public.
