I agree whole heartedly with Dan Crenshaw's take. I don't like sending so much of our money to Ukraine but I also rather not just kick the bucket down the road on the hopes Putin's aggression stops at Ukraine.

The odd thing to me is how the left and right have dug their trenches on Israel and Ukraine. Conservatives generally supporting lots of money being spent to Israel but not Ukraine and liberals supporting money to Ukraine but not Israel. I am generalizing of course but I noticed that pattern.

Bottom line for me on Putin's endorsement of Harris is insignificant because there is no way to tell what is going on in Putin's head other than the safe assumption that he doesn't make that announcement because he cares what happens to America. I think he is just stirring the pot but that is just my bet.

I remember reading, but cannot confirm as I never looked too much into it but Ukraine gave up their nuke weapon program cause "we" would protect them as no county with a working nuke arsenal has been whole scale invaded.  Maybe that's why some don't support Ukraine?  Their leadership chose to trust others instead of themselves.

I would have to look up specific laws to get the technical details but there were times when republicans and the NRA were more supportive of some firearm restrictions that today would be much harder to get by a republican congress. In the 1960s the NRA supported a number of gun control laws.

I don't know that men competing on women's teams (and those type issues) is really a far left vs far right issue so much as it is just an issue that both parties have picked a side and dug their trenches. It is certainly a step towards crazy but there is nothing inherently Republican or Democrat. Again though it gets complicated because are we going left vs right from a modern political ideology or are we going left vs right from an evolutionary biology perspective?

The left has moved more left in other ways though.

So maybe you have an example from 60 years ago. I thought we were talking modern times. So is the "regular" GOP from 1950's and prior?  And no examples currently to support your statement?  It doesn't have to be techinal, but the general idea is acceptable.

Men in womens sports is a far left thing as much of their party went off the reservation years ago. 1 is correct and the other is wrong. The GOP stands on science and the DNC goes based on feelings for this issue.

If the democrats or Republicans funded both they would get more independents like myself.   I fully supported funding Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan.

It's quite simple don't be on the side of terrorists, communists and dictators.   Fund freedom and democracy.

I remember hearing that on the radio as well but there wasn't much detail. I don't know if it counts as a full on treaty or not but if we agreed to defend them when they gave up their nukes (a deterrent against Russia) then we are kind of obligated to defend them.

Take environmental regulations as an example. Republicans have walked back a lot of environmental regulations in recent years. I think that would be fair to characterize as more right since more right means less government control.

Why do you say men in women's sports is inherently a left idea, as opposed to just a crazy idea the left has adopted? Neither party has a monopoly on science, they both use it when it is convenient.

So how are you defining left and right in this context because that really sets the discussion. Depending on how the spectrum is laid out can determine whether the GOP is really moving more right or not.

Ukraine didn't read teh fine print. We will defend them by just giving stuff and not with the most effective solution, manpower.

What kind of regulation?  Like when I asked and you said firearms. What kind of firearm laws?  Does removing a dumb regulation make someone far right?

Are you saying that I said the left invented the idea of men in womens sports?  Which I never stated.  Science cannot have a monopoly as "numbers don't lie".

Why are you asking me to define left and right?  You are the one that mentioned far left and far right, so I asked what evidence do you have that makes someone "far".  You failed to post it, but just something so broad that it on 2 occasions didn't answer the question.  If you don't know and want to retract your statement, then just say so and the thread can end.
