Jefferson Maldenado, a 31-year-old immigrant from Ecuador, has been arrested
five times in New York City since his arrival in the US earlier this year. His most
recent arrest was for stealing a pair of trousers and a beer from a Target store
near Herald Square.

When asked why he committed the crime, he said: "I wanted to change my
clothes and think. I wanted to sit down and think about my life, about what to do.
Because this is not a normal world."

Maldenado was one of five immigrants arraigned in a Manhattan courtroom last
week. Across New York, newly arrived immigrants are reportedly overwhelming
the criminal justice system at rates much higher than public officials have admitted.

New York City is populated by over 58,000 illegal migrants who are convicted
of or facing criminal charges.

"It’s shocking that Democrats have gone so far out of their way to harbor gang
members, drug traffickers and other criminals who are in our country illegally,"
Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., told the New York Post.

Of the 58,626 criminal migrants, 1,153 are "suspected or known gang members," the report added.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams says he is open to deporting migrants who
have been charged with crimes ahead of a meeting with President-elect Donald
Trump’s new Border Czar Tom Homan.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Adams said he has requested a meeting with
Homan to talk about the incoming Trump administration's plans for dealing with
the influx of immigrants that have overwhelmed the city's emergency shelter
system. He said he doesn't plan to fight Trump's pledges to deport criminals illegally
living in America.

"I would love to sit down with the border czar and hear his thoughts on how we
are going to address those who are harming our citizens," the Democrat told
reporters. "I'm going to be working with this administration."

Adams said he supports the deportation of migrants accused of crimes, an apparent
shift in his position that deportations should be conducted only after a criminal
suspect is convicted of a crime or serves a jail sentence.

That is New York. How many more cities have the same problem but it is being covered up by Dem Mayors and council??? Give them a taxpayer plane ticket to somewhere else....no more problem, unless you happen to be a young lady out for a morning run!!

annually due to illegal immigration. This figure represents a net cost. In terms of gross
expenditures due to illegal immigration, we estimate that Americans pay $182 billion.
Approximately $31 billion is received from illegal aliens in taxes, only 17 percent of the
costs they create.
