Survey: The Left is More Likely to Use Guns for Violence
« on: December 14, 2024, 02:22:37 PM »
The left admitted to using guns for violence -- not self defense, but for other reasons.

Quote
When We Asked Survey Respondents:

“Have you ever fired a gun in anger?”
- Democrats: 16% Yes
- Republicans: 10% Yes

“Have you ever threatened someone with a gun?”
- Democrats: 18% Yes
- Republicans: 11% Yes

“Have you ever used a gun to get what you want?”
- Democrats: 13% Yes
- Republicans: 6% Yes

One of the surprising conclusions of the survey stated.
Quote
Men who own just one gun are more likely to use that
gun in a dangerous way than men who own more guns.

Admittedly, most Right-leaning gun owners are reluctant to answer gun surveys at all, so the pool have have been weighted more in the Democrat direction.

Also, there's no way to know if respondents were honest.

Regardless, the fact this was published makes me think perhaps the tide is turning when it comes to having an honest debate about gun control.  Baby steps.

This goes in line with what I have noticed in other areas. The right comes off as more crazy and appearing violent in their beliefs but when the rubber meets the road they seem more emotionally stable and less likely to resort to actually using force without justification.

On a side note I have to wonder about the percentages as they seem rather high. 10% of republicans have fired a gun in anger or threatened someone with a gun? Are they including being sent to war? Was this survey done in a bad part of Chicago? That just seems awfully high as an overall number. I doubt 10% or even 6% of republicans in Hawaii have used a gun for any of these things outside of police/military type situations.

You seem to have many questions and no answers.  Maybe do some research on your own for a change?

It happens pretty regularly, but nobody wants tell the police because the state would figure out a way to turn it into a crime and lock the person up for defending themselves.

Ever notice how the insane homeless who attack people get let right back out onto the street but then they seize lawfully registered guns from guys who saw a psychologist for minor psychiatric issues?

There's no money to be made from the homeless. Pirate logic.

That's the problem with hatred. You end up becoming exactly what it is that you hate.

i found throughout life most people hate anyone who reminds them of their own shortcomings.

It's projection in its basic form.

So, do they become what they hate, or are they already what they hate, hating themselves because of it, and projecting what they are onto others?

Chicken and egg conundrum.

What do you mean by "they"?  Those people don't take too kindly when you refer to them as "they".

"They" hate being called "those people' more than "they."

I wouldn't consider using a gun in self defense to be "using a gun to get what I want" though and even then I wouldn't really consider firing a gun in self defense to be out of anger or a threat either though technically I could be angrily firing at an attacker. I don't know if the questions gave better explanations but the image I got from the wording are more along the lines of improper uses of firearms. Plus Flapp specifically said not for self defense. These questions make it sound like 10% of republicans have committed a gun crime.
