What are you good eats (up to $75 a person) and cheap eats in Las Vegas.

Cheap eats for me is California Hotel using someone elses food coupons for a Steak dinner.

I watched the Kitchen Nightmares and Hells Kitchen series so I ate at Gordon Ramsey's Steakhouse which was good but not really memorable.  Hell's Kitchen was neat for the different food there and atmosphere.  Gordon's Fish and Chips was good but wasn't anything special. 

My experiences are a few years old, so anything specific i post has a good chance of being gone now.

Krispy Kreme is always a winner, but i imagine you're looking more for food-food.

If I had to rank order the ones I'm sure still exist:

1.  This one used to be off an alley right on the Strip.  Now it looks like they moved to The Venetian.  I imagine quite a few placed relocated due to the Formula One races needing space.

2.  Top of the World Restaurant -- The Strat.  Prices are a little high (like the view), but guests get 20% off.  Both times I ate there, My San Diego project manager treated our group.

3.  i always made a trip to The Hard Rock Casino each trip in part for a meal at The Pink Taco.  Great food, casual dining, and very affordable.  I see this link saying the Pink Taco will be opening again after being close when the Hard Rock closed.

4.  Breakfast at The California Market Street Cafe.  Usually had coupons, but th food was top quality, the pancakes were tasty, and the prices seemed quite reasonable.  Since I usually stayed there, it was also convenient.

5.  MGM Buffet.  The food was good, but not to the level I'd crave.  If visiting the Strip, it's a good affordable option.  The few times I went, they were very busy, and the staff was not the most attentive.  Pretty much self serve, so ask all your questions when you get there.  They pretty much leave you to fend for yourself most of the time.  If you leave hungry, it's your own fault!  Compared to other popular buffets, and the fact it's at the MGM, it's hard to complain about the price.

6.  Fremont Casino's Lanai Express.  Loved their beef teriyaki bowl with rice.  Very filling, and cheap.  great place for a quick bite downtown.  Last trip, they'd renovated to make it less like a snack bar and more like a diner.  They advertise the $2.99 shrimp cocktail, but it's not that much.  The one I got was a scoop of tiny shrimp.  It's worth the $3, but don't expect gourmet quality or quantity.

Lots of other places I've been, but many no longer exist or are not the same.

Grand Lux in the venetian (24/7). Huge menu, sister company of cheesecake factory.

Din Tai Fung in Aria and order lots of stuff as each dish is about $20.

Tao in Venetian. But $75 is doable with no apps as entrees range from $40-65.

Neko Sushi, off strip. AYCE.

My daughter picked Olive Garden when we went out to eat.  Used to go all the time in OK, and then in VA after she was born.

Just as good and plentiful as I remembered.  Since it's well off the Strip, prices were about what other locations run.

The onion rings are awesome. 1 of the few deep fries food mrs.cmo will eat. But only there.

Their oreo shake is good and their toffee dessert is good.

I love Texas Roadhouse bread and onions, but they have it in other places and I always make sure I stop there.

The Top of the World restaurant has several sections.  if you want to sit in the rotating deck section, it's best to make a reservation.

Side note: everybody wants to sit and eat while they watch the view change.  When i ate there, it appeared they cram as many tables into that space as possible.  It's not very roomy, but if you're used to 10 people eating at your kitchen table, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.    

It might be that our group of 12 was in a tight space to accommodate our single table, too.  The tables right next to the windows seemed less cramped.

They might have improved on space since my last time at this restaurant, but it's something to consider.  Maybe make a trip to the Strat mid-day to check it out in the daylight and make your reservation if you decide to eat there.

The MGM buffet isn't worth it. If it were $9.99, then it would be.  If you have to spend $ at MGM, try Grand Wok and play the Wild CHerries Machines out side there. The progressive hits often and is $1004.84 or something. It's a $3 a spin machine.  I play about $300 worth, which is my stop loss on all slots.

The only 2 buffets on the strip that are worth it are Bacchanal (Caesars) and Wynn.

Off strip, South Points buffet is good.

Def hit up Tao cause the spicy tuna on crispy rice alone is $25 for 5 small pieces. The lobster wonton in mushroom soup is about the same I think. There is also Chipotle on the 2nd floor food court at Venetian, near the parking garage. Next to that is a Aqua Fresca which has very good juices (non-booze). I get the blueberry mojito. They let you sample it also if it's not busy. They're the ones in the big vats.

We used to make it a stop to eat there and Chick FIle, until we got our own. Now I only go to the Chick outside Planet Hollywood to get a lemonade as it's very good. I like to drink juices when walking the strip.

In Vegas I'm a sucker for "graveyard specials" that are offered by the 24 hr. cafes.  But those kinds of cafes are rapidly disappearing.

South Point has great graveyard specials and people line up before the time and it gets crowded.  I believe you also can only order one graveyard special per person.

I like the "simple" type of eating places.

Binions Cafe got great cafe food and the portions are ridiculously huge.  Siegal's 1941 cafe at El Cortez got great prime rib at reasonable prices and it is available 24/7, not like most places that offer it only during certain hours.  Magnolia's at Four Queens has their signature gumbo that I always order with an entree.

I don't wait in those ridiculous lines anymore to eat ox-tail soup at the Cal Market St. Cafe.  Junk.  It used to be good.  Now it's mediocre, meat is tender but no flavor, and the broth tastes like the ones you make by throwing a couple of cubes into the boiling water.

The Beef Tomato plate at Aloha Specialties is a real "broke da mout" plate.  But come hungry or you will not finish it all.  Their beef tofu and loco moco always runs out.  If you like tripe stew they make a really good one.

But I personally don't eat these foods because I can easily get these here at home.

The fancy places?  Only visited mid-tier places like Hugo's, Redwood Grill, and 2nd St. Grill (Rest in Peace).  As you can see I am a Downtown person.  Hardly visit the Strip on trips nowadays.

We visit the local casino's more than anything.  And Red Rock stands out as having great places to eat.  And all really nice places with food under or around the $75 range.  And the Diversity of food offerings.  Thai, American, Sushi, Chinese, Asian Fusion, Mexican, BBQ, etc.  And a Steakhouse where a 2nd mortgage is needed to eat there.

The craps table is primarily the reason I go to Vegas.

It was just over a century ago that lobster was considered garbage food.  "It was cheap and plentiful, and thus eaten by the poor, prisoners, servants, and even pigs or goats on farms."

It's wonderful what a simple change in their cooking method - i.e. boiling them alive - can do to help transform garbage into the most expensive entree on most seafood menus.

We went just as the price went from $55 to $80. It isn't worth $80.  Luckily, Mrs. CMO has diamond status and we get to skip the line and no RSVP is needed.  We were meeting friends and I hit the royal flush on the river at Ultimate TX holdem and won $5K. So I bought dinner for us. $340 bill excluding tip and tax.  She only got diamond status (their top tier) cause they fucked up on issuing the card. Their top tier status sucks compared to other hotels. Bascially we get free valet, but Palms has free parking and lots of it, so valet isn't anythign special. Other casinos will pay partial  your airfare, pick you up at the airport, dining credits, etc...Not Palms. I woudlnt' be a high roller and play there.  Imagine spending $250,000 on slots and the best part is free valet and skipping the line at the buffet.

But, it isn't worth the wait either.  And since that asshole wasted about 20 lobsters so he can show it on social media, they now only serve you like 2 at a time. You have to sit down and come back with an empty plate or they won't give you 2 more. They've very strict about this. If they see a lobster on your plate, they will refuse to give you more.

Tim Ho Wan is good there. We often go there to eat at that one, even though there's one here in the Royal Hawaiian. The one here sucks that's why.  McDonalds on the mainland doesn't deep fry their pies like how HI does. They bake them. But the McDonalds int he Palms food court doesn't serve the pies.  The straberry cream cheese pie is AWESOME!!!!!!
