USAID and our taxes

Since its tax season, I wonder how much of our paychecks go towards waste and stupid crap. I'm guessing 20-25% of our Fed taxes taken out of our paycheck every month is going to crap.

So easy to play with money that's not yours.

Maybe now those "81 million voters" will wake up.

Wait.  Most of them are dead........

That explains why they always vote Democrat.

USAID accounts for about 1.2% of the US Budget.

I would guess that true waste is about 10% but that we could cut the budget back 20% by tightening the belt.

You have no idea what the facts are.  You're just throwing out numbers to try and argue (Mr Contrarian).

Whenever someone (like you) starts talking percentages, I start thinking they are trying to deflect and obfuscate from the actual numbers involved.  In your case, you have no clue what those numbers are -- actual nor percentages.

Percentages are meaningless in this context: trillions of dollars in federal spending every year.  We continue to hear how the top earners of the country need to pay more and more, and tens of thousands of new IRS hires are going after low end wage earners to squeeze us for more money.  It's not that we need more revenue.  We need to stop wasting so much of what revenue there is.

Watch this video and pay particular attention to the gentleman's comments regarding the use of USAID.

Former USAID Employee on Waste,
Fraud, and Abuse in the Agency.

Quote
USAID failed to properly manage the billions of dollars entrusted to it.
This committee discovered that USAID partners were charging 50%
or more for overhead.  A government audit showed that USAID could
not account for overhead charges concerning $142 Billion worth of
awards.  These funds proved a boon for the progressive-dominated
foreign aid industry.
