Tulsi Gabbard announces NSA firings over Sex Chat
« on: February 26, 2025, 10:48:41 AM »
Tulsi Gabbard went on the Jesse Watters Show on FOX to discuss the deep state use of NSA computers and other devices to participate in sex chat topics.

She's fired and revoked security clearances of 100 Intelligence employees.

Good. If one did the same for any private company, they too would get fired.

She's doing what her predecessors did not -- weeding out the people living high on the public trough and not doing what they are paid to do.

Behavior like this starts at the top, either because they ignore the problem holding nobody accountable, because they enable it by hiring more people to do the work those people are not doing, or both.

She said it's over 100 people.

Let's assume they each spend 2 hours/day on sex chat.  The Office of Personnel Management uses 2,087 hours as the number of work-hours in a year.  2,087 / 9-hr workday = 231.888 days per year.  Most salaried federal jobs require 9 hours of which 1 hour is for a lunch break.

Rounded to 232 days, that's 232 x 2 hrs per day = 464 hrs per year per person x 100 people = 46,400 hours cumulatively spent on chat in a single year.  then you have to multiply that by the number of years on average they were wasting time on sex chat to get the full depth of fraud and waste.

46,400 hours per year represents about 22 full time employees. In other words, those 100 or so employees are doing the work of about 88 people -- but we are paying for 100 people's salaries, benefits, administrative overhead, training, equipment, office space, etc.

Add in any sexual harassment lawsuits if someone were to read this over the shoulder or it's discussed around the office.

i'm trying to stay within the confines of the sex chatting being abuse of government resources -- including government labor cost.

If you look at the nature of the offenses, there could be cause for revoking clearances based solely on that.  Say a high level NSA employee with access to highly sensitive information or systems is caught engaging in adultery, is a closet homosexual, or has deviant sexual behaviors they engage in both online and in real life.  Often these chat rooms include people describing their activities for others.

Anything that is a possible embarrassment or which might result in divorce, break-up, losing custody of kids, or whatever else is prime ammunition for being exploited by bad actors.  Even though being gay, lesbian or whatever else is no longer as taboo as it once was, anyone trying to keep that lifestyle/orientation from becoming public opens themselves up to blackmail, extortion and exploitation.

The list of consequences goes on and on.  Sexual harassment isn't normally cited just because you have private chats about sexually explicit subjects.  Someone could, however, claim a hostile work environment exists if that behavior spills over to the workplace setting -- such as making someone uncomfortable by telling others what you posted or read on the chat.

seems this was allowed by the previous administration under the umbrella of LGBT and DEI.  I wonder if they're going to make the case that you can't be fired for something that previously was legal, permitted, endorsed, etc.

now, if they continued having their sex chats even after DEI was thrown out the window, might be a different story.  They failed to "read the room", and ignored the "memo".

seems like the govt has become a magnet for fruits and nuts.  sheesh!

Those employees no seem too intelligent to me.  Pretty stupid what they did.

Imagine going home and having to explain to your spouse why you got fired.

FYI, I did mention this in other threads, but loosing their clearance is a big deal. Many take these jobs cause once they retire, they can go to other companies and make way more money using their clearances.  It's like their "retirement plan".

The "guest" in the video didn't quite explain the mechanics of transferring a clearance from a government to private job.

The clearance does have an expiration date, and you need to be in a job that requires access at that level to retain it.  if your new job only requires secret level access, than a top secret clearance would normally be downgraded to secret.

There's a real cost associated with a private employer "holding" your clearance.  Investigations, periodic training and reporting requirements, security personnel to manage the clearance paperwork and credentials, etc. are just part of what it costs to keep someone's clearance active.

if you can transfer your clearance to your new employer before being out-briefed from your government job, that's ideal.  Most departing employees will line up a new job ahead of being out-briefed -- out-briefing initiates a complete revocation of access to classified -- whether or not your clearance has expired.

So, while the clearance may still be active on the books, not transferring access to another security official will require more money, paperwork and time to reinstate access.

If your clearance expires or is revoked, then you have to start again from square one to apply for a new one.  After 9/11, it was taking up to a year for the investigation to complete.  it's much quicker now, but still expensive to request for non-government employers.
