Using his power to hold questionable law firms accountable or abusing his power to punish law firms which tried to hold him accountable?
No, I don't believe these law firms are all super virtuous but Trumps actions and justifications are the same you see when dictators try to silence opposition.

If the law firms broke laws or ethical standards then make the case to the bar association, don't go punishing them by punishing clients who try to hire them. Law firms are supposed to represent their clients and if Trump is being sued the law firms are under no obligation to speak kindly about Trump.

We've covered this in the past 4 years. Lawfare.

BTW, a dictator would just jail them all and have no trial, or execute.

It's visible, you just choose to not accept it. There's a difference between not seeing it and not accepting them.

There's none so blind as those who will not see.

Milbank is representing HI in the senstive places unconstitutional law.  They have unlimited resources to do pro bono stuff. They do so for cases taht are good for marketing or align with their company idealology . Katyal charges $2800/hr and another $600/hr for his support staff,

One of the nations tops atty;s vs the little guys (ALan Beck and Kevin O'Grady). If the AG had to represent themselves, we would have a better chance to win the lawsuit as they're morons.

Those arguments aren’t going to work. There was a coordinated effort at the highest levels to silence Trump with lawfare campaigns by stretching the law past its breaking point, and bunch of his supporters got locked up on bogus charges. Many on this forum were very concerned about the political persecution that we would inevitably face under the spiked heel of a Kamala administration, especially those of us who regularly share our views in public. Probably everyone with a 2aHi account was watchlisted at some point, yourself included.

The gloves are off now, and commies only have themselves to blame.

I do not agree with your premise but i'll set that aside and for the sake of argument assume your premise is true. You don't fight abuse of power with more abuse of power.

Please give examples of how dictators hold law firms accountable in order to silence opposition.  One would think shutting down media reports that are negative would be more in line with dictators' actions.  Since 80% of stories about Trump tend to be negative, I don't think Trump is doing dictator correctly.

Trump did threaten the media and took steps against reporters he didn't like. Trump doesn't have the level of power at this point to go full dictator and control everything in the way that one would "dictator correctly"

Quote
The bar association is comprised of lawyers.  You want to rely on lawyers who may not approve of Trump in general to somehow punish law firms attacking him?  There's no way to expect a bar association to be unbiased.  There's no entity overseeing bar associations.

So the bar associations might be biased therefore a biased president makes the call on what law firms get to practice law?

According to the Left, Trump now controls the House, the Senate, the WH, and the Supreme Court.

How much more power does he need if he's planning to be a tyrant?  What's he waiting for?

You really think if Trump issued an executive order that the 1st amendment was suspended for journalism that congress and SCOTUS would go along with it?  I do not, Trump does not have that level of power.

More hypothetical analogies that are meaningless.

You didn't answer the question.  What's he waiting for?

The answer is in the hypothetical. Trump doesn't have the power to do that yet.

Hahhahaa, someone must be tired of being wrong.

One would expect a normla person to grow tired of being wrong,
but some people can't be wrong when they think they've qualified
their comments sufficiently to give themselves at least .009% of
a chance of not being 100% wrong.

It's a game adolescents play:  how far from the truth can i get without crossing over into being totally 100% wrong?

I lied, but I didn't really, really lie.  I'm a genius, just like Einstein, saying what might be true without tangible evidence.

That's why I brought up that aybe he likes being told he's wrong.  There are some guys who have authority during work and when off the clock like being told what's what.

That's why I don't go back and forth too much. If I'm going to dom then I want to get paid for it.
