P365 Trigger Springs Breaking
« on: May 06, 2025, 04:50:25 PM »
A guy I follow on IG CarryTrainer who has some good vids.  He mentions that he often sees P365's go down during his classes and due to the trigger springs breaking.  He states that the gun isn't made to handle a high round count like a glock or other guns can.

He goes on to say to talk to any SIG armorer and they will tell u the same.

He recommends buying an aftermarket one.

Things that I've learned from him that I use:

When I'm clearing my gun, I rack the slide 3 times. Because if u rack it once and a round comes out, maybe you just had 1 in the chamber. But if you rack it again and another round comes out, then that's a clue that a mag in still inserted with rounds in it.  Then by the 3rd rack, it should def be a wake up call.

Another thing I've learned is my strong side thumb often rides ontop my slide release, preventing the slide from locking back on the last round. So he drew a happy face on a students webbing of their support hand and tells them to cover that happy face. Till this day, I imagine the happy face there and haven't had a problem riding the slide release since.

So IMO, Micky isn't some random social media expert claiming trainer.

The issue I see is that unless you're going to change the springs every X round count, which sucks to keep count of, this would be an EDC weapon and you don't want your gun going down when you need it.  Odds of you needing it are low, but still it's a consideration.

Some springs break at 2500rds, others at 7,000. So there's no PMCS schedule.
