"We actually have no idea how many ghost guns, or how many homemade weapons there are, because these parts, for example this railing barrel, is not currently tracked or regulated," said Hawaii Dept. of Law Enforcement Director Mike Lambert.

The Ghost Act wouldn't actually regulate the ghostly parts of weapons being made by 3D printers, those without serial numbers or registration.

I think he actually said 'rail and barrel," but the transcribed quote in the text was "railing barrel."  He was pointing to the slide, so i'm going with he accidentally (?) called the slide the rail -- should have said "slide and barrel."  Either way, he's on camera trying to explain and educate, but making obvious errors.

How many people watch these reports and don't already know he was making errors?

If this is the level of professionalism and accuracy the state can produce, then how can anyone present a rational counter-argument?  It's like someone saying a rifle is a shotgun, and now we have to spend time correcting them on basic facts that should not be problematic.  The assault weapon vs. assault rifle definition is the same problem.  if we spend most of the time trying to educate them on the correct terminology, the argument shifts away from the crux of the matter.

The AG says that they cannot charge people under the current law for having a P80 that has no serial number on it.  So they instead need more laws.

Nevermind that they also cannot charge for: places to keep, not registered, places to keep ammo, etc...

During testimony, the chief of the DLE said "if they separate the slide from the frame (handgun), then they cannot be charged".  This means one could technically walk down waikiki with their AR slung and the take down pin behind the pistol grip pulled out and the upper/lower separated by 1/4 inch and that would be legal.

These are the morons who are in charge.

But at least for this new parts law, they added in the word "prohibited person".  So if a felon has the parts, then they're breaking the law.  A law abiding citizen is protected.  And they also removed springs and like smaller parts that could easily be mistake for a firearm "part".

The above is with regard to the HI bill/law and not the federal law that corrupt Tokuda is talking about.

Any body know how many ghost guns as well as the number of  registered guns and unregistered guns :closed: being recovered at island crime scenes ?
I see "HPD confiscated 84 ghost guns between January and November 2024, a substantial jump from the 34 confiscated during the same period in 2023." (vs CB "Honolulu police reported 68 cases involving a ghost gun in the first 10 months of 2024 alone") but how many of those were  recovered at island crime scenes ?
And what is this "kit" they speak of ("Law enforcement would receive a list showing 10 kits may have been received by an individual.) ?

How can you count something that cannot be seen? Did they hire Casper to help them count 'ghost' guns?

Corrupt Tokuda says that her federal law won't infringe on anyones rights.  I mean, you would have to sign for any package and that would also allow HPD to do a background check on you.  Seems like an invasion of privacy.

you should get one

I am looking for recommendations for some sort of product I can put on part of my AR-15 barrel. The handguard I have exposes a small portion of the flange behind the front sight post and it got quite hot. I was figuring that some sort of fabric covering for just that one spot. I know they make some fabric wraps but I saw one catch fire once on a hot barrel so looking for one that can withstand the heat.
Thanks in advance.

please prove she's corrupt...

She knows how to read and what the 2A says. She's been told by the people what it says via emails.  Yet ignores it and votes to violate it.

If no one told her anything, then she's just dumb or ignorant.

Thank you for posting this video.  It clarified a lot of questions that I had about Tokuda's proposed bill to monitor and control gun parts entering the state.  Pro 2a all the way !
