At the start of his term, I met with him to go over the new proposed CCW policy and HPD's past role in promoting gun control.  I got some small minor changes to the policy.  However he agreed that HPD shouldn't be a participant in the gun control push at the legislature like Chief Ballard taking her leadership team to the Capitol to promote the magazine ban.  Logan, along with most of the other Chiefs, have been absent at the capitol or been very neutral.  This despite having the most anti-gun Mayor in history overseeing him along with the most anti-gun Governor in office.

The current crew of county chiefs have been the least gun control sided in at least the past few decades.

I wonder why Logan and Raybuck both seem to be leaving around the same time. This doesn't instill a lot of confidence in both county's police departments, and when Logan says "crime is down" I do not buy it! There's still criminal homelessness everywhere (kauai too) and it's not until recently are the cops on Oahu "lifting a finger" on the issue of homeless encampments.

It's easy to pad numbers when victims are talked out of making a report.  I have numerous friends who had this done to them.  Some had to ask for a supervisor so they could file a report, others didn't due to the "we prob won't find them anyways" talk.

Personally, i don't know Chief Logan:

In Reality, being a "blue state", even if the chief was Pro 2A, it would be "political suicide"  With that being said, and the statistics etc etc etc, who would like to be the "whipping boy" or Girl, be "micro managed" etc etc etc.

What does the bible say?  He who is without sin cast the first stone.....

I think we should all "wish him the best".,.

Just my 2 cents....

Have a Great Day!!!!!

That's what it appears.  Supposedly Logan was told by Blangiardi to make it difficult to get a CCW license.  And Blangiardi talking to logan about the resignation, and wanting to take over the Chiefs hiring firing gives credit to that belief.

I'm not saying Logan nomo balls but I've read about countless LE Chiefs (on the mainland, of course not here ) telling their bosses to take a flying f*ck at a rolling doughnut instead of just being one of their "whipping boys".

HPD did state during the senstive places bill hearing that it would be difficult to enforce. Logan was also at the C&C of Honolulu ordinance one and said the same.

HPD was silent this year on the "assault weapon" ban and silent the year prior.  Only the DLE with cuck Lambart was supportive of it. The AG too was silent.

Like Zippz said, Ballard was worst. She would have her and her top brass show up on floor vote and do PC's about why they want to ban rifle mags, "these 2 on my badge" (with regard to the Diamond Head shooting and in no way was a greater than 10rd rifle mag used.

I think there were a few other bills that HPD said would be difficult to do, but I can't remember.  But I do know at no time did HPD say it's unconstitutional, so they won't enforce it.

Anyone applying for the Chief job could just tell whoever is interviewing them what they want to hear.

Politicians do it all the time.  I believe it is ok to lie to people who don’t deserve to know the truth.

I think I read or saw somewhere that the Kaui police commission was asking the public for input as to what kind of characteristics they are looking for in the Chief of Police.

I was thinking if the overall response was a non-kiss-a$$ critical thinking individual that will uphold the US Constitution, especially the 2nd Amendment,

would the Kaui Police Commission listen?

Does a Polar Bear sh*t in the woods?

The problem with the commissions are that they are of all affluent people. They need a regular joe on the commission.

Qualifications
At most went to UH or another local university
Makes at most $60K
Born and raised here and went to k-12 here

The last time I checked the HPD commission, they were all lawyers or people who have high job titles.  No regular joe.

I don't agree. We need smart people with integrity. Nothing wrong with higher education. That is what's wrong with our political system here with both parties. We elect people based on the wrong perceptions. i,.e. Kurt Favella
