This is not a surprising development, given the modern war-lab that is Ukraine, but super interesting for sure!

The video implies that the fragmentation occurs while still in the barrel (no suppressors or comps can be used, etc.), so the bullet has some sort of protective cover (as shown) to allow for regular magazine fed operation, etc. - would be great to know more about how this is actually constructed.

Thanks for posting this! - even though you have no interest in, nor ownership of, military firearms of any kind, whatsoever...

P.S.  With 7.62mm you get extra egg roll (fragmentation) with your order...showing size matters once again!

The issue with this is that the person will have to do a mag change or do a mag change if in contact with a non-drone enemy.

I still think the underbarrel "master Key" would be the best. Or some kind of quick release for a very short barrel shotgun that can be placed near your back. It doesn't need to hold 5 rounds, but 3 is sufficient. "I keep this handy for close encounters" ~Corporal Kyle Reece

If the non-drone enemy is within 50m, why switch mags?  If you need to fire, just use the drone rounds.  Just because they have a design for a given purpose doesn't mean they can't also be used for other purposes.  plus you get multiple projectiles per shot, perhaps giving you the effectiveness needed in just a few rounds to allow time to do a mag change?

Thinking about it more.  It would be easier to carry this ammo in 1 or 2 mags than carrying the extra weight of a master key or a shotty.

Each method for drones has it's pros and cons.

I wonder if we're heading back to the NAM type days where there was 1 or 2 guys in a platoon carrying a shotty as their primary weapon when in the bush.
