I wonder how theft would be if we had capital punishment. Like chop off the hand of a thief.

Of course this would never happen here.  Instead, victims get in trouble for kicking some ass of a theif.

Thanks for the tip, Mr. How low will mortgage rates fall
with a September Fed rate cut? Here's what to know.
, er ah, Jackson!  >:D
There's a difference between engaging a thread-jacker with related facts vs. being the person who should have started another thread before derailing the topic.

I responded to the OP with:
"If you can find a sane and responsible homeless person..."

Maybe I'm naive, but I think any sane, responsible person would tend to not be homeless.

 :geekdanc: :shaka:

and then had to defend my self from accusations that I'm making assumptions about homeless, calling them lazy and stupid,
"Typical boomer entitlement, talking down to people who were crushed by the policies that enriched your generation at the expense of everyone else."

Yeah, i got sucked into the personal attack, but i didn't have much else to do that day, so I engaged a troll.

You picked one post I made that was intended to counter the arguments made by the thread jacker.  Please don't start attacking me here and becoming another thread jacker yourself.

I knew a guy who was homeless, and not a bum.  He worked at Longs full time but couldn't afford a place. He slept in his car and showered at the beach. His coworkers would bring food for him for lunch as he either wouldn't eat lunch or get a $1 cup noodle.  Althought he was a little weird, I would consider him sane.

He was the exception as I see many bums on the street that aren't sane or responsible. 1 bum in my area recently OD'd and everyone is glad. He often yells at people and jerks off to women who are walking by.

The solution is to re-establish a sense of community. Easier said than done of course.

This state used to have one of those which is why I moved here, but increasing economic pressure, real estate flippers/airbnb ruining neighborhoods, and social isolation psyops really tore that apart.
People want to belong to something, and in my opinion the reason why so many of us are crashing cars into each other lately is a subconscious desire for connection that's not getting fulfilled.
Community is in our DNA even though the industry-hijacked government gremlins insist that we would all be perfectly happy living in pods and eating corporate slop.

We could learn a lot from the fighting spirit of the homeless. They didn't give up and kill themselves, nor did they submit to the toxic paradigm. The system gave them two choices and they picked a third.
If the news was lying to me I would have heard about it on the news.

There's an intersting vid of the tunnel people in Vegas. 1 guy stated that he loves the freedom that he has being a bum. He's not a slave to his bills, job,etc...But at the same time, if he wants a cheeseburger, he cannot just go get one.  I never thought about it that way.

Ours is not a society in which one can be self-sufficient and still attain a comfortable lifestyle.  You need to be completely off the grid, growing and raising your own food, have a source of fresh, safe water, and create a habitat that protects you from the environment and threats (animal and human).  You need basic health care supples to treat infections and injuries so you don't die from a minor cut or bite.

While it's possible to create such a fortress against the societal norms of working and paying bills, you still have to put in the work to subsist.  Crops don't wait for you to feel like planting or harvesting.  A leaky roof isn't going to fix itself.  And that cut on your hand that's not healed for 3 weeks probably isn't going to heal itself either.

When someone mentions luck regarding the majority of us not forced into the streets by "the system," they should also mention the luck of those on the street who have been able to avoid life-threatening problems, quite often wih help from the same government tthat gets blemed for putting them there in the first place.

No, no, no Mr. Jackson - ya don’t get away with cheap obfuscation.

I responded to your mortgage rates post, and you come back with snark saying my comment, precisely about that, is off thread?

Show me where I said YOUR comment is off thread.

If my general comments made you think that, then that's between you and your conscience.

Repeating myself -- "You picked one post I made that was intended to counter the arguments made by the thread jacker.  Please don't start attacking me here and becoming another thread jacker yourself."

Oh I see, Mr. Jackson.

There appears to be no honorable way out of this impasse, and so, with deep regret, I must call in the Judean People's Front crack suicide squad - on the whole lot of us.

Honorable?  Is this the first time you've been on the Internet?

Hey - it’s not so bad here in Valhalla.  Since the Muslim takeover, we all get 72 virgins now, even us infidels.

Should have done this sooner!

Probably the most important step we can take as individuals is to start attending neighborhood meetings and events and actually making an effort to meet the people around us. That might be a lot easier now that the left is losing their stranglehold on local politics. A lot of them are about to have an astonishing fall from grace as that the truth about mRNA drugs finally gains widespread acceptance. Getting rid of the control freaks and sycophants will free up tremendous resources.

Amen brother - the mRNA they used to jump-the-shark into their promised land of tyranny continues, one way or another, to decimate their ranks.

Like I always tell my wife, the greatest test we ever took in our lives, was defying the kill shot mandate.

No one could have ever imagined it.  It was real-life Sci-fi horror.

It was shocking to see how quickly people folded, especially those who swore up and down how evil big pharma was just a few months before.
On the bright side there will be a much needed house cleaning on all levels of government, and if the grassroots starts preparing now we can take advantage of it.
Imagine the legal runway suddenly clearing for pro 2A victories. A lot of these judges are about to retire in disgrace and/or go into hiding.
