The Honolulu Police Department arrested a man in Waikiki Saturday for allegedly assaulting an officer.

Police said the officer was injured after the 37-year-old suspect allegedly hit the officer with his fist and a guitar at around 5:30 a.m.

The suspect was booked for suspicion of first-degree assault of a law enforcement officer.
