This is from infowars so...

The best thing about info wars is they source what they are talking about. You can easily click the link to where they are getting there information from and then decide whether or not you agree with their assessment.

Said it before - reloading is a wonderful hobby. Been one of my favorites since I was loading target shooting rounds with my dad when I was a kid.

Every single one of my firearms can happily fire lead bullets. I can make my own gas checks for the rifles.

I do not have an ammunition shortage. ;)

i thought powder and primers have been selling out, though.

Probably are. Locally, no, but in the bigger picture, yes. Shipping on that stuff is insane so I generally buy from the shops down in Hilo. They had plenty last I looked - which was about 2 weeks ago.

Selling out, yes, but still more available than some ammo calibers.

just bought some rifle and pistol primers from Young Guns and OGC, looks like they have a healthy supply.  However powder is running low for some calibers.  Also bullets are sold out online.

every  gun owner should learn how to reload.

I respectfully disagree...

I need people to waste money on factory ammunition so I can pick up their discarded brass at the range...also, can't have the component supply drying up during non-ban periods!  ;D

supply and demand,  the more people reloading the more shops stock up on reloading stuff.    Good point on the picking up the brass part.

I was kidding...In all seriousness, reloading is a wonderful tool for each gun owner.

I knew that.    I also know that not everyone will so their loss is our gain. More brass.

you're welcome to mine, anytime.  have fun, my rifle dents the shit out of my brass.

guess which one wasnt fired from my rifle?

i dont know anything about reloading, but if you guys can work with that, i'll do what i can to hang on to my brass ( my rifle kicks brass about 30 feet, so i cant save all of it) and when i get a nice little stash of it, i'd be happy to let someone have it.

I'm curious to know what rifle you have that dings the neck.

Its a Sig 556.  supposedly they all do that.  the rifle will eat anything i've thrown at it, but it does do a number on the brass.

you can see where the brass hits off of the receiver here too.

a lot of 556 owners online like to put a patch of velcro there to save to finish, but i think the wear adds character ;)

I have a sig 556 too. It is a brass mutilator. The neck dings and sidewall dents are no big deal as I can jam a awl down it to fix that and sizing takes care of the rest. The real problem is the big gash my ejector puts in the head, sometimes i have to file the rim to get them in my shell trays. Now I just shoot the brass with loose primer pockets and other throw-away brass with that rifle.

If there was a mod to tune the gas like a FAL, I think the problem would go away. The giant piston is a bit of overkill.

i was just about to guess sig 556
no one can pick up our brass since it is way out at about 2 o'clock from where we are firing
i think people would be disappointed if they were sweeping up our brass and saw all the dented cases

i saw a guy who drilled new ports in his gas key.  it worked, supposedly, alhough i imagine it would be hard to get it JUST right without it indexing like the two settings that are there by default..  i'll see if i can find out where that was.
