I think we flipped Mazie 180 degrees.  She's saying assault rifles should be easy to get.

Shove it, Mazie.  You say this because showing an ID is hard......but not so hard when applying for welfare and SNAP benefits.  Then quick the ID comes out.

And of course the SAVE Act will be hard.  Especially for the illegals and idiots like you.

Mazie obviously has never

purchased a firearm, filled out several pages of permit application, submitted it at HPD,

and waited 14 days just to go back down to HPD and pick up a permit,

to take to the seller to get her gun,

where they then go through the ATF registration,

then take the gun back to HPD,

to register it, or waited an indeterminate period to get it registered online.

- having to show a valid Hawaii ID with the gold star throughout -

I guess she also isn’t registered to vote here either, WHERE WE HAVE BEEN REQUIRED TO SHOW AN ID TO VOTE, SINCE LIKE FOREVER

and registration is automatic for all subsequent election cycles….

This is why the Dem party is finally disintegrating - they are now so openly bat-shit insane.

I don't know why anyone spends 2 seconds blasting what she says.  She's like the senile great grandmother who hasn't had a coherent thought since Hawaii became a state!  It's what the Southern expression, "Well, bless your heart!" became popular for ,,, when you can't say anything nice, say that!

Do people not remember when she was running for governor?  The governor gave the Honolulu mayor his endorsement over Mazie, his Lt. Governor.  If that doesn't tell you who she is (and isn't) what would it take/  Once Mayor Harris dropped out over his failure to resign as mayor before starting his campaign as required by law, only then did she get the governor's endorsement.  She basically came in first place in a 2-horse race after the leader broke his ankle!

Then she lost the race to Linda Lingle, the only other Republican to become governor since 1959.  Not the best endorsement in a Dem-controlled state.  I wonder if Democrats recall that election as the time Lingle won it for the GOP, or if they view it as the election Mazie lost to the GOP?

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

I guess it’s worth it to share a somewhat surreal experience I had with Mazie last fall - after decrying her usual public rhetoric above.

Wife and I were seated right next to Mazie and several others at a small restaurant in Waialae-Kahala.  It was a late brunch and the place was beginning to empty out.

When I say small, I mean there was essentially one seat between me and her.

By the time we had finished eating, there was just her and two other women chatting about whatever middle-age women chat about.  The whole time nothing political in any way whatsoever was discussed - no mention of “fascist” Trump - interesting for what are apparently kindred spirits on the hard left, and Mazie’s own vehement views, as above.

The whole time, I was looking for some security element in that tiny restaurant full of mostly retired people - but when I say full - maybe 10 people.  There were no males under 60 in there! - I saw no security for her, a Senator.

So there I was, carrying, sitting next to her: As far as I could tell, I was the only potential security element for her, a U.S. Senator, in there.

How ironic!

When they left she greeted us as she went out and chatted a bit with us - as we were sitting right next to her - very nice lady.  By that time, our two tables were it in there, besides the restaurant staff.

Hawaii is a constantly surprising place.

I'm pretty sure she's a nice lady when not towing the party line.

Then she's a beast.

For sure, just like me too I’m afraid.

Two people who consider the other an existential threat to themselves - in no uncertain terms, behaving like human beings.

I wonder which part is really who we are.

I think I know which part we probably should be though…

That's not what I've seen in public.  I'd see her once in a while at work in passing.  Never smiles, says hi, acknowledges anyone, and just has that blank look to her.  Even when she's with her staff.

Schatz is the complete opposite of Mazie.  He says hi to everyone, talks to people, smiles, seems grateful.
