I don't agree with any of those.  No way is the first bill going to pass requiring household members be evaluated.  A 2 year firearm course requirement?  Why don't we have that for drivers licenses, might make the roads safer.   I see some good things:

1.  No assault weapon ban
2.  No restrictions to 2 round magazines.
3.  No semiauto ban

Where's the shall issue concealed carry bill?  I know one of the reps always puts it in every year.

Why was he endorsed?

Because politicians lie and change positions and we can only use the data we had at the time. And he was endorsed last year, not this year.

Here's the link to the discussion on this forum about that endorsement....also note that when folks chastised the manner in which the decision was made, that the resulting request for his (and anyone else) assistance for help to develop a better system went unanswered.

Why was he endorsed?
Better question, how does a guy who looks like he keeps a couple of eight year old boys chained up in his basement "play room" win election?

You know, until we personally start running for government and getting these guys out of office, we will never get these laws changed.  Our government officials are so one sided, it is not funny anymore. We need to kick these people out of office.  Some of them even ran unopposed in the last election.

Anyone here want to start representing their districts and running in the next election?

Can someone clarify the second sentence of the first bill?

Any adult residing in the same house as the registered owner would have to get a permit to "use"?

Looks like. In order to use my gun at the range, legally, my roommates would have to apply for a permit. Even the text of the law is difficult to comprehend and convoluted. Typical HRS bullshit.

So how does one complete a safety course, which is required for a permit to handle a weapon, before having a permit to handle a weapon?

Fucking idiots.

Wrote them a nice long letter on each SB via the NRA email blast feature!  Had trouble with the Ambercrombie code section so I dont think that went through but he wouldn't listen anyways.

You know how the legislature sees this?  1 million guns owned? Tax it annually to help pay for the state's debts and obligations.

I agree somewhat with that.  Think about if they pass the buy back thing or confiscation of our guns then the State reaps the benefits.  They in turn sell them or bolster their armories with probably the AR's.  Then the monies from the sales goes to pay for stupid entitlement crap, like putting more gold teeth in the mouths of Micronesians.

Where's the townhall meetings regarding these bills?  They held so many town meetings for the stupid rail project which really seems to be heading down the road to failure.
