When I was a young child in Sunday School, I often wondered why the world was still trying to make itself "better" after nearly 2,000 years of having the blueprint for a utopia right in front of them.  Treat everyone as you'd have them treat you, don't lie, steal, murder or disrespect your parents, and so on.  As I grew older, it became obvious the problem lies in people disagreeing on which rules were the right ones, and how to go about enforcing the rules on those who refuse to play by them?

The only solution I've found after decades of observation and participation lies in accepting the people into your town, city, state or country who believe as you do, and protecting "your people" from those who would take or destroy what you have all built and enjoy.

Someone said the person at the top is always going to have others wanting to knock them off and take their place.  The US has been on top for a long time.  Many feel it's time for another to take our place (of course, it's usually those not on top), yet they don't think ahead to consider the consequences of how the next top dog will treat the rest once they have the power -- and the US Constitution and human rights simply become a footnote in human history.
