For the people that hunt, what kind of knife do you take along with you when you are hunting feral pig?

Haven't taken a blade out since big island '95. This might do although at 7.5", for me the blade is ideally about 1.5-3.5" short. Not too crazy with the handle either, but its a strong blade. Bought it from Cold Steel about 10 yr ago, misplaced it, and found it this week. Maybe for small kine (100 lb max), but tell that to the dogs.

Nice blade octomon.

How do you like the quality of cold steel? From what I've heard, they are pretty good and they are a decent price.

Till buying a few blades a couple of months ago, I haven't paid too much attention to knives for at least 6 years, and longer than that with Cold Steel. Was pretty surprised recently at the hate for Cold Steel present in a number of  U.S. based forums--I guess they've pissed a bunch of people off for some reason. The CS bowie seen above is made out of carbon steel, and still hasn't been used. For a heavy duty thrusting blade, I might have wished it was a hair narrower (3/16"), and maybe with a little more taper in terms of thickness, but I can't really say that would make a noticeable difference. That CS bowie has a lot of that "survival tool" aspect in its shape.

I did have a carbon steel CS tanto, and the steel and its hardening seemed adequate, although it wasn't taxed heavily either. When it comes to serious fixed blades however, I prefer front heavy, of which tantos definitely are not. Still looking for 3 to 4 more new blades.

Ive noticed a lot of hate on Cold Steel online as well, but the reality is they make working knives at a very competitive price that outperform much more expensive semi and custom knives.  The guy that runs the knifetests forums has video proof of what a cold steel knife can take compared to the knives so coveted by a lot of hi speeders on the net.  Check out knife tests on youtube, he used to host the videos on his site but the regular knifetests site domain is for sale, only the forums are active.

Ive got a couple cold steel knives around the house, but the one I really wanna take hunting is the Boar Spear I got about a year ago.  I had to get one after watching a video of a guy in Texas walking barefoot through a rice paddy in Texas with night vision and a boar spear shanking multiple pigs and pushing their heads under the water with his foot so they didnt alert the other pigs.  Unfortunately Hawaii is at a shortage of both rice paddies and dumb pigs that will let you walk up on them.
