The actual petition is a little vague, isn't it?

Seeing as the Hawaii court and legislature already consider the 2nd amendment to mean you have the right to keep (with a proper permit) and bear (in the trunk, unloaded with ammo in a separate container) arms (only if you are going to hunt, a range, the police station, etc)...

I worded it very specifically to mean for them to stop any further trampling of our rights. As for existing law that must be fought a different way.  The knee jerk reaction to punish law abiding people and strip them of their rights because of the actions of a few maniacs or criminals is unacceptable.

Yeah I know but that is what PO Boxes are good for.

I am writing you to let you know that I support the 2nd ammendment, the right to keep and bear arms. I am asking you to vote against any new bills that put more restrictions on firearms and the registration process.  It already is very difficult here in Hawaii to purchase a firearm.
