A better idea would be to bring back the PHS mental health hospitals and institutionalize all the crazys that were let loose in the 80s along with the current crop of nuts.  Make "time out" illegal and make spanking mandatory corrective training for unruly children.  Privatize the schools, allow them to decide whether or not they have armed guards on campus.  Ban all behavior altering medication such as Prozac and Ritalin.

I knew a lady on Oahu that had a kid tell his teacher that she kicked him in the arse and they sent some bogus social services goons to take the kid away and harass her.

Now that I think back, if my parents DID take me to a doctor, I probably would've been diagnosed with some kind of ADD.  My dad used a dowel.  Stings, but will break should he whip too hard.  I learned more than just paying attention.  I learned respect and responsibility.

My mom used one of those, but if the offense was really bad, I had to wait until Dad got home.  I don't know what his technique was, but Dad used nothing but a work-hardened farmer's bare hand, and it sucked.
