Gun Debate on PBS Hawaii tonight at 8 pm channel 10

Hawaii Rifle Association president Harvey Gerwig and Hawaii Defense Foundation attorney Richard Holcomb will be on the panel with two more guests and hosted by Dan Boylan.

Please call in with your questions to Harvey and Richard, to ensure more air time for the positive view of Second Amendment rights.
http://www.pbshawaii.org/ourproductions/insight.php

Dan Boyland is very antigun and this bias was apparent when I was on the show in 2011. The other two participants in tonight's show are a (supposedly) gun owning psychologist and Former Mayor, Peter Carlisle. They have not listed the panel as of the time of this post.

You will be able to call, email or tweet questions to the participants. Most folks want to direct questions toward the "anti-gun" participants, but doing so will only give them more air time to skirt your question and speak about their talking points. So, if you're going to call in, and I would encourage you to do so, direct your questions to either Harvey or Richard.

Here's the email address: insights@pbshawaii.org

Here's the tweet address: https://twitter.com/pbshawaii

I'll see if I can get the phone number. You can email your questions in ahead of the show, so you might want to consider sending in your questions now....let's inundate them with "pro-gun" questions before the show even starts.....

Go Harvey!!! You tell the truth on TV.... Screw Carlisle thats why he isn't mayor anymore... People can get guns illegally which is 10 times easier than going through the process....

Why is Carlisle talking about gangs running around shooting wildly...

Right on Harvey!!!!

I had to take Boylan's class and was advised not to speak of the NRA by my fellow classmates if I wanted to pass with a good grade. Crablisle is an idiot and you know what? The general Hawaii population will probably buy it as heard through the responses PB receives. Boylan, the psych, and Crablisle are all anti gun from the get go. This debate or talk is sided one way from the start.

Carlisle appears irrational with his aggression and it's crystal clear where he stands on this issue but yet he owns a firearm. He could care less about the 2a.

And Carliar was our "Mayor" what a frecking tool, he had an empty argument talking about a .50 cal rifle that had ZERO casulties in the US.

We liked the open Honesty of the psychologist.

Harvey really showed Carlisle to the idiot that he is.

Wonder if the cases he prosecuted needs to be reviewed.

I'm sending a   to Harvey after this.

His email is in the HRA newsletter.

So it was 3 vs 2 instead of 4 vs 1 this time?  I remember Kaneshiro, Boylan, Case, and that other guy that didn't say much compared to the first three being on the other side during the 2011 "discussion."  I guess that's an improvement.

I watched it. Was a bit disappointed. I was hoping for more of an attacking style of debate, but it seemed they conceded a few points earlier than I had liked. There were a few openings they didn't take advantage of as well. But overall, well civilized and a great start to the talk.

When the producer called me to do the show I told her I wouldn't consider it because of the manner they stacked the deck against me the last time. I told her it was a shame that PBS, an entity supposedly there to provide information in a fair and balanced manner to educate the public had so blatantly pushed their anti-gun agenda. I guess it worked....only wish I could have done this one just so I could have had a go around with Carlisle......not bragging, but I would have liked to (verbally) kick his *ss

My favorite part was "who here owns guns?"  Got 4 out of 4.
