Fellow bullseye shooters,
I understand currently several local gun clubs host numerous outdoor conventional pistol (1800/2700 Agg NRA) and High Power Rifle matches at Koko Head public gun range. Being that i have attended both events in the past, i have realized these matches are somewhat restrictive due to range limitations and locally enforced firing times. Understanding this, Pu'uloa Gun Club seems to be the only gun club using PRTF to host Rifle matches (no pistol that i am aware of). PRTF is more suitable to host matches of this type over a weekend time frame. PRTF belongs to the Marine Corps who focus mainly on training rifle and pistol qualification details for their Marines on most weekdays.
If there is legitimate amount of interest amongst the bullseye shooting community to possibly hosting practice or NRA approved matches aboard PRTF; i am more than willing to discuss this possibility. a simple letter of request can be submitted to appropriate authorizing personnel and based off previous requests, it was most likely be approved. My purpose is to rejuvenate this type of competitive marksmanship through providing access to resources, venue and being a liaison between shooting community and military command.
Facility capabilities: (2) rifle ranges 100, 200, 300, 500, 600, 800, 1000 yard lines. (4) pistol ranges 7, 15, 25, 50 yard line with fully equipped pneumatic targets 40+ target front per range. Targetry resources (minimal fee)
Since i am not familiar with the "key" players in this shooting community, please feel free to direct them to this link. Thanks for reading,
