Probably because he actually understands what freedom represents and appreciates the opportunities America has provided him and his family through hard work. I'm sure he will never take it for granted and appreciates the freedom and rights he enjoys in America. So many of our elected officials take freedom for granted as they continue to push legislation to infringe on our constitutional rights.

easy, really.

I've always maintained that the people with the deepest understanding of the importance of the freedoms we have afforded to us by the country that we live in are the willful, lawful immigrants.  why?  they know first hand what it is to be oppressed, censored, exploited and disarmed.  they know what its like to live under a government that doesnt care about you.  and they moved here to change that situation.  most of us were born here.  we were never threatened with death for protesting.  we were never censored.  and while we've had restrictions on our gun rights, we've never had a confiscation or total disarmament.

this is a country formed by immigrants, and they will always be the ones who most appreciate it, imo, because its something they never used to have.  if any of you have, say, grandparents or parents who immigrated here during, say, WW2, i'd be willing to bet that each and every one of them would defend this country to the death if it were ever threatened.
