Aloha Stan,

On behalf of the office of Representative Denny Coffman, thank you for your message below and for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding the proposed legislation relating to firearms.  I hope this message finds you well.

As Hawaii has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, Representative Coffman is in agreement with you in that he feels proposed legislation aiming to enact further restrictions, such as SB219, may be unnecessary at this time.  Should you have any questions or desire any further specifics on his position, please feel free to contact our office via my contact information below.

Thank you for your time and participation in the legislative process, and we look forward to hearing from you in the future!

Sincerely,

Napua

Dear Representative

I would like to let you know that I support the 2nd amendment, the right to keep and bear arms.   The bills that are being introduced would not have an impact in what you are trying to accomplish.  Hawaii already has tough restrictions on purchasing firearms.  I would like you to vote no on any new bills trying to restrict firearms or making registration more difficult than it already is.

Thank you

Good Idea,  I haven't posted any of my emails or responses.

Aloha Stan,

Thank you for your email regarding gun control. There is much to consider in deciding how to proceed on this issue, as there are strong arguments both for and against stricter gun control.

The recent mass shootings that have devastated our country have sparked a movement to enact some type of ban on assault weapons and high volume magazines. However, I am very cognizant that a majority of gun owners are responsible people who enjoy using firearms for sport.

On the other hand, while Hawaii already has some of the strictest gun control and registration laws in the nation, I do think we need to find a way to balance the interests of public safety and those of responsible gun owners while not violating 2nd Amendment Rights.

I had a reply from Hanabusa but it was crap and I deleted it.  I just checked my trash but its already gone.   I'm really disappointed in Beth Fukumoto.  She is the Mililani Rep and House Minority leader and she hasn't responded to any of my emails.   And to think I was promoting her before the election.
