If they do have a rapid-fire restriction, an imperfect substitute, just to develop the muscle memory, is to load a dummy under or after the live round and click away.

The main practice element there is the recovery from the first recoil... at least, that's the way I see it.

Hadda do that at one range a long time ago.  I still do it once in a while just to save ammo when "refreshing" with a long-unused gun.  I load dummy, live, dummy, live, dummy, live, to the mag or cylinder capacity, making sure the last round (first one in the mag) is a dummy.

For them double-action revolvolatin' guns you have to think about it a second or two more, and remember the direction of cylinder rotation*.  First time I did this with a 7-rd revolvolator it confused me, but it worked out OK.

* Smiths rotate counterclockwise from the rear of the gun, Colts rotate clockwise.  Rugers go counterclockwise, too.

Well, that's what I was getting at.  If you can't do rapid fire double taps, do rapid-fire bang-clicks with dummy second rounds.

My experience is range officers pay extra attention to members with guests, so be extra diligent on the rules.

Thats a good technique.  You get to feel like your double tapping, feel the trigger reset, get your second "shot" off, practice malfunction drills, etc.

I double tap all the time and mag dump pistols all the time at HF.

They're ok with it as long as you're safe.

I done double-taps and mag dumps. never got in trouble before. also while in the show room, they just chuckle it off when they hear anyone dumping mags in the range.

What store has the slidefire stocks? OGC and HF didn't have them. Or did you just order on-line?

HF prides themselves on the rapid fire at their range. Ive got a bad habit of fondling firearms when I go window (display case shopping).  Every time at HF they tell me about discount range time when you buy. And the fact they allow rapid fire.
God, guns, and guts made America. Let's keep all three!

Does KHSC have a valid reason for not allowing 'rapid fire'...or more then five rounds?

Hey, I've been around the block with firearms a couple of times.  Listen to the old man.

Oh, and marriages, too.
