So, why is our Sheriff not on board with the vast majority of the continental US Sheriffs about this?

He's appointed and not elected, just like the HPD Chief.  Can't bite the hand that feeds ya.

Wheres the hawaii sheriff?

seems like he will take your guns if the law says to.  did anyone ever call to ask what their official position on it is?

Sheriff Tsuha is supposed to be at the DPS offices on Ala Moana Blvd (by Ward Warehouse across the car lot), but he's usually at the District Court (Alakea St).

I doubt it...the State of Hawaii's Sheriff's Department is law enforcement, but not in the traditional sense. The majority of their work is done on state property and they simply don't have the numbers to enforcement a gun seizure. HPD would be the ones doing it, and even then it'd be specialized services knocking on your door.

*Calling the Sheriff's dept to ask would be pointless. Any answer you get would change each time you call...and that's IF they even bother to give one.

No he won't. I spoke to him at length on guns and he is an avid gun guy/owner.

The question should not be if the Sheriff would or would not seize firearms.  The question should be if the Sheriff will stop any agency that is trying to enforce an unconstitutional law.
