Submitted testimony and e-mailed it to the list of senators provided.

The issue with the Federal version or Obama care version is that if anyone in your home is on anti-depressants and your doctor reports this to the Federal Government because of Obama Care requirements, then the government will have the right to take the guns out of the home if certain legislation is passed. So the guns could belong to you and you keep them locked up in your safe. But if you are caring for a sick parent and their doctor puts them on anti-depressants that could give the government the right to come take your guns. Again, assuming the way the legislation is written. I am depressed.  :(

I browsed through all the testimonies and they were in basic alphabetic order by first name and my testimony was not in there!  I have e-mail receipts for my testimony. :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

Here is the list: http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/session2013/Testimony/SB932_TESTIMONY_HTH-PSM_02-08-13.pdf

I wonder how many more were not acknowledged?

Looks like they aren't consistent in their alphabetizing.  The first individuals are Michael, Adam, Gordon, Al,  "Vernon" appears in the middle of the S section.  Try doing a word find in the document.

Yeah, I did that and I am not in there. Maybe my testimony was not included because I insinuated that any senator that would pass this bill is an idiot?

They also have a disclaimer posted that testimony submitted less than 24 hours in advance may not find its way to the online posting.  If you posted in advence, I'd contact "them" and let them know there's an issue.

I posted on the 6th. I did e-mail the webmaster and received the following reply:

Aloha Dave,

Our electronic system did receive your testimony however it is up to the committee holding the hearing to collect and compile it. You may contact the HTH committee at 808-586-9385 to find out more information regarding your testimony.

I called the number above and it is Senator Green's Office and a person named John answered. He is very helpful and answered my questions. One question I asked is if ALL TESTIMONIES have to be published and he stated emphatically YES. All testimonies have to be published on the website. He stated that they were having some technical difficulties which he would not say what they were. But he encouraged me to have EVERYONE who submitted testimony and it did not appear on the website should call him ASAP.

who wants an update?

So the hearing went as scheduled.
there was a fat stack of papers for "oppose" at least a couple hundred testimony submitted.
went through it.  lots of others showed up as well
the attorney general, someone that represented the state hospitals, private doctors, HRA, and gun owners
the chair actually seemed interested in what the people had to say, was taking notes, asked questions about how they can make this bill better
his chair Will E-forget his last name also expressed that he was going through the process of getting a handgun
all the members seemed to be paying attention to what the people were saying.
nearly all members present today were against it in totality or its current form- there was talk about perhaps adding the "private sector" into the mix when doing the backgroud check/ medical reports/doctors

I wont post up the results of the vote just yet.

Also on another related note. the attorney general stated, while called up again by the committee, that owning firearms is a privilege.
Flyboy corrected her during a recess, and she kinda laughed, gave a oh yeah, blew it off, and went back inside.
I guess thats a good insight/window into the way these people think, and a preview of what we face.

Thanks for the update bass monkey. I like to hear how the hearings are going. I can't believe the amount of testimony the 2a community put in. A couple years ago, there was just a handful and today there was a ton. Great job guys.

I'd be interested in hearing how the AG stated that owning a firearm is a privilege. That is a serious mis-step.
