Depends on what you're using it on.

AR platform, I'll take an Eotech.

AK platform, give me a T1 or H1

Aimpoint.  I love being able to turn it on and leave it in the closet, knowing I wouldn't have to change it for 5 years.

try out the eotech. see if you like it.
Eotech is easier for me to sight. Aimpoint seems like I'm looking through a tube

I have both, well three. EoTech 512 and Aimpoint T-1 and CompM4. The EoTech was my first red dot, so I got used to it. But now I prefer the T-1 did it's compact size and long battery life. I've had to replace the batteries on the EoTech twice already and I don't even leave it on.

They are both excellent sights though.

T1, superb battery life, and super light weight. Try checking out the Daniel Defense M4 abuse video, the Aimpoint on the rifle takes a damn beating and keeps on ticking. Made me decide on a T1 for my AR.

Aimpoint has a cleaner dot and less parallax error, but the Eotech has a biger window and is faster to aquire.

Haha, this means if you can still see clearly.

At my rifle course I took at Frontsight, I couldn't hardly see the 18"x12" target at 200 yards.

I need an optic with some type of magnification.

Were the plates blending in with the background?  I'm usually ok with no magnification if the plate is in sunlight and not the same general color as the backdrop.

The 450 gong/plate at Kokohead that's up in that little crevass, I have a tough time seeing it from certain angles, especially when it's in the shade because the plate is dark (or at least the one that was up was dark).

I have an Aimpoint PRO now and prefer it a lot more than the Eotech I used to have.  The Eotech just seemed to make me focus on the reticle and dot too much.

Aimpoint all the way! Way longer battery life! I have a aimpoint pro, can get them at ogc for about 400 bucks, includes mount.
Was gonna go with the eotech 553 but the red dot looks much fuzzier
