Ooooh, you're the one who bought it.

Congrats. Nice gun.

It's an aftermarket flat faced trigger that I installed with trigger spring kit.  I also polished out all the internals. Trigger went from 9 pounds stock to a smooth 5 pounds

Not really an outright purchase but I made a spear last weekend with stuff from the hardware store and some bricks for a forge. I miss my full smithing setup, using a tire iron for an anvil really sucks.

You will like this rifle. The kick is a little strong because it is a sub-7 lbs. rifle but it's a tack driver.

Interesting idea. There is a place in town that sells fire bricks and they aren't very expensive.
Did you test the hardness of the spear at all? Out of curiosity, why did you do this? I think you could have bought a cold steel spear head for a similar price as a whole shovel.

I just had the regular bricks laying around so it's what I used. I didn't get hot enough with the little MAP gas torch torch to where I'd need actual fire brick. The steel only got to a dull dark red. I didn't test the hardness, but I wanted it soft anyway. I'd rather have he hear bend than snap. I don't know if it looks like it because of the handle but it's not made from a shovel head, and it cost about $15 in material.
