new grips for my SP101
I had wood grips from Ebay that never did fit properly.  so I dremeled the inside to get it to fit, but I dremeled too much and then it was loose and would move when I shot it.  so my mistake.
so I trashed those wood grips and got some grips from Altamont.  this is their snakeskin combo grips.
I like the checkering on the inserts and the checkering on the rubber grip front and back.  the stock rubber grips on a SP101 is smooth, no checkering
feels like it grips more, but I haven't tested it yet at the range.

Custom hand built flintlock rifle, called a "Boone Gun" from Don Bruton.
38" Colerain swamped .45 cal. barrel [correction], turns for patched round ball
Beautiful curly maple stock, hand carved and shaped by Don
Hand forged iron butt plate, trigger guard, trigger, and inlays

The pictures do not do it justice. In hand, one can feel the love and hard work that was put into this build.  The depth and character of the wood and steel are amazing.  It just seem to have a soul...   It wasn't cheap, worth every penny.  This will be passed down, hopefully for many many generations.

Of course!!!  I don't spend that kind of money, and not use it!  LoL   As we 2Aers like to say a lot, it's a tool.  A very pretty tool, but none the less, a tool.

Dispel the myth that black powder is hard to deal with, it causes rust, blah blah.....    IMHO, talking strictly muzzle loaders, it's actually easier to clean and deal with than smokeless.  All you need is some soap, water, WD-40, ballistol.  Everything clean and dry in 15-20 miniuntes tops..  Plus it is a blast of a good time!

Maybe tomorrow...  See where she's shooting, hopefully good zero at 50yards.

Giveaway still on until 12/31/2017.  Kicker is that you have to buy it at full retail, no discount.
If discounted, no free rifle.

EuroOptics.com, but Midway, OpticsPlanet are authorized dealers, among others.
