LIFE Fun Shoot Feb. 24, 2013
« on: February 16, 2013, 05:59:05 PM »
Anyone going? Just curious. I'll be there with my new Glock 19 and Springfield Loaded Target 1911 if anyone wants to try them out. I'm only bringing 150 rounds for each gun, so...

Every 4th Sunday of the month, LIFE sets up this event at Koko Head where you can meet new friends and try out other people's firearms. Note that this is all volunteers so bring your own ammo to be considerate.

I'd be there every fun shoot if it wasn't for church.
I think, therefore I am armed.

I try to go to the fun shoots to help when I can, but I'll be shooting at Schofield this month. That and have to watch how much ammo I go through. It's no unusual to go through quite a bit of it at the fun shoots.

Have fun. All of the regulars are pretty friendly and super helpful.

Rules for the action bays at KHSC say 10 rounds max. I have the letter directly from the range master.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

You have to be an HRA member to attend.  Good thing about these fun shoots, is that you can sign up, right then and there.

Dolomite, it depends on the event.  Past targets have included paper, metal, water bottles, chopsticks, shotgun shells, lumber, balloons, clay pigeons, and self-healing magic bullseyes, plus another handful that I'm forgetting right now.

Those are usually for the competition events though.

The typical targets are primarily paper.  There is usually an open shoot where the water bottles typically come out.  Sometimes there is steel, but everyone has to remember that those are restricted to handguns only.

This type of weather is exactly when things should be held to test your equipment and understanding.
